Caster Group Vs Scout Group

My main group is a scout group which I am quite happy with the dps, but I've made an alt group with casters and they're severely bad is comparison.

I have the following characters for my caster group:

Zerk
Fury
Warlock
Necro
Troub
Illy

I can switch out toons to make the following instead:

Monk
Fury
Wizard
Warlock
Troub
Illy

Or

SK
Fury
Necro
Warlock
Troub
Illy

My warlock is my highest parser around 30-50m. I've seen him do 100m once.
The rest are all lower.

They're about 50% less dps than my scout group with similar gear (alhough now my scout group is even better with eth runes). I admit I don't know how to play mages particularly well so setting up cast stacks have been slow going.

Any recommendations on best setups of group makeup for optimal buffage and any cast stacks or scripts are more than welcome. I can write primative scripts if I get any advice on what is needed.

Ultimately my aim is to get this group to a level where they can do MC and SK to finish weekly ethereal missions. I can do the other zones, although naturally they're much slower than my scout group.

Should I even bother with my illy? He seems meh now TW is not that useful.

Also have spare coercer, dirge, inq, warden and defiler on various accounts that I could get up to speed fairly easily and transfer to another account.

I thought my mage group was so bad that I've even levelled up a new scout group, but they need epics done still and i'd still like to make my mage group work to provide some variation, rather than having two identical groups.

I currently run
SK
DEF
Troub
Illy
Wiz
Lock (started with a fury for my 2nd healer then moved to lock once the defiler became beast mode with gear upgrades)

Wizards are very tricky to get to parse so if I was to do it all over again I would swap the necro for the wiz and roll like that...maybe. Only thing is I've never played a summoner class and the wiz is my main so he has the best gear of the group since he is my main raider. Warlocks are easystreet on parsing with the bot. You probably can't go wrong with zerker since they seem to be the strongest Heroic tank atm vs an sk.

I have both, created a melee group after running into so many power tapping mobs in the last expansion. Mage group is decent, but scout group is about 25% higher DPS, even with nearly identical gear and lots of tuning.

My current favorite mix is:
Zerk
Inquis (!verdict!)
Coercer
Dirge
Ranger
Swashie

Do you find the ranger outparses an assassin?

Doing MC at the moment with my mage group - surprised how reasonably easy it's going once I figured out who was curing on servitor.

Still much lower parses than my scouts but at least they're doing it.

Out of curiosity, how much difference are you seeing on the parse?
About 20%.

My ranger (with reset rune and old ethereal bow) is now doing 200-250m whereas my assassin (with reset and fervor rune) is doing about 150-200m.

Ranger has a side script I wrote that basically holds off all big hitters for fervor proc, waits for 20s after the proc and then starts casting temp buffs so he's ready when fervor hits with max stats.

Assassin is using a side script I got hold of to ensure bleeds are on before doing a chain and now also waits for the ravaging rune to proc. He's not so clever with his temp buffs and it's something I need to look into.

Ranger spikes earlier and can now basically hold that dps now he has the reset rune. He also can do more dps out of position (ie in front of mob). Assassin takes a while to build up.

Main difference on gear/stats now is Ranger has a better ring (800+ pot), gets bolster off mystic and EV of coercer. Assassin gets BC and has eth wrist.

Potency is around 6500 for both static in group, not sure what it spikes at. Ranger uses caustic poison so assassin can use hemo. AB mod around 90-100k (both lacking really).

Interested in how you did the side script for the fervor proc. I've been thinking about swapping out a mage for my ranger...

It's just a timer.

If proc is active,

call Burst function
wait 80
call Burst off function
wait 200
call buff function

Burst function has sniper shot and a few others in it

ie
OgreBotAtom aExecuteAtom ${Me.Name} a_QueueCommand ChangeCastStackListBoxItem "Sniper Shot" TRUE TRUE

Burst off function has sniper shot and buffs greyed out

ie
OgreBotAtom aExecuteAtom ${Me.Name} a_QueueCommand ChangeCastStackListBoxItem "Sniper Squad" FALSE TRUE
OgreBotAtom aExecuteAtom ${Me.Name} a_QueueCommand ChangeCastStackListBoxItem "Sniper Shot" FALSE TRUE

Buff function has buffs activated

ie
OgreBotAtom aExecuteAtom ${Me.Name} a_QueueCommand ChangeCastStackListBoxItem "Sniper Squad" TRUE TRUE

Then you have to have your cast stack set up so these go first!

Send me a PM if you want more info. There are more sophisticated ones but I found I couldn't get it right so just went with the simple timer.

Can complete all the ethereal mission zones now on my caster group. They're no way near as good as my scout group but they can do it. I just have to be more careful and follow scripts more, etc.

How do you make a timers?
You have to know how to code in a basic way. It's a side script that looks for some text (the proc), then does something. Ogre is a very complicated script in a way, lines of code making your characters react in one way or another, and a side script is a more primitive addition to it.
