Computer problem

Its been posted over...and over... and over. I know.

I was installing a new heat sync after getting a few over heating messages while boxing.
I forgot about the cpu locking leaver and didn't twist slowly the factory heat sync slightly, much less unlock the leaver, while removing the heat sync off the motherboard there for ripping the cpu out of the motherboard destroying 8 pins i think it was.

Recently, I upgraded my computer from a:
phenom II black edition quad core 3.4 processor
asus crosshair 2 motherboard
(4x2gb) Kingston 1333 DDR3 memory
GTX 465 factory overclock

I Decided to build a new machine but like many people I'm not getting the performance increase that I should. I'm having a number of issues.

I'm having these issues.

1) vs a friend running duel gtx 580's similar ram. slightly better processor that isn't overclocked i7. He is getting triple the frame rates in eq2.
I run BF3 at max settings at 90 fps with no real video lag at all. Game looks amazing. Eq2 extreme quality drops me to 10 fps when friends are at 40. Sometimes they get higher then im getting in extreme performance.
2)Ntoskrnl.exe is causing a memory leak and making my computer crash after it stays on too long (via minidump)
3)For some reason recently after rechecking my benchmarks I realized that my 8 core processor is now only showing 4 physical cores. Previous benchmarks show it at 8 so why is it now only showing 4? after installing a h100 I re auto overclocked (to stay safe) and it put it at 4.074 gb.

All in all. I have ran several corrupt windows command prompt tests. I have tested my systems stability. I have covered all the area's of performance and the only friends I have have no clue how to help me and make retarded comments like

... dude you probably have too much ram
... you know man you probably have a processor that's too good. You need duel core
... you might want to try to go windows 7 32 bit , it might run better
... something about ram cash idk.

EXPERT, nah but I know my system well which means I know yours well too.
I said it in here before but that memory dump needs to be fixed asap. That isnt good. The new Nvidia driver sucked also so I went back to the previous 285.xx. Atleast on release date it was killing my system too. Just looked and 296.10 is out which is the second version of this R295 family of drivers. The old was 295.xx so ill give it a try also but the old driver was killing my system when it was suppose to increase so many game by up to 40%.

You have upgraded from the system I had prior to the system I have now(except 32GB of RAM is way overkill) and it seems we upgraded to the same system depending on your MB, PSU and RAM.

I am guessing you are running the FX-8150, if so 4GHZ is not even overclocking, you are underclocking the system. Run AMD overdrive for an easy overclock(if you dont know how to properly OC) and set the multiplier to the level of what the turbo was at(assuming you have reset everything in bios) and take turbo off(does so automatically on OC) and just run the flat out turbo rate of 4.2 GHZ. You installed a H100 at less then 4.1GHZ and im on air @ 4.4GHZ and never go above 135F during hard gaming sessions. You should be able to hit 4.6-5GHZ and stay just as cool if not lower.

EQ2 only runs on 1(a little of a second core) core, for AMD that is core 8, it will also use a little of core 7 for lighting and small thing but very very little. Windows uses Core 1 by default and any other programs you might be running like ACT or Vent will take up core 2. Doesnt hurt anything to turn off cores 3-6 to keep it cooler(when they Overclocked this CPU to the record 8.6 GHZ it was on just core 1 and 2)

No you dont have to much RAM. Yes you do have to good of a CPU because windows (much like every other program out there) wont even allocate 4 of the 8 cores anyway untill the patch or windows 8 comes out. Dont run 32 bit. But yes the Ram dump crashing your system is a huge problem but that wont effect your EQ2 session in a short time unless a chip is bad. I would run a mem test to check while it is under warranty unless upgrading those grafic drivers fixes the leak.

Trying to compare a SLI 580 I7 to a 560Ti FX with just that alone is like comparing a Shelby Mustang to a Comaro SS without any other info. First, forget about what your friends does, you didnt pay what he did for his setup I would hope. Overclock what you can and the 560TI is pleanty to handle what little EQ2 uses for Video Cards. I do see that you run full HD 1920 x 1080. Not that I would suggest turning it down but that will cause more of a FPS loss then a non full HD monitor. The mini HDMI port is a great hookup on that card.

What speed is your Ram at? before and After OC'ing. What kind of motherboard do you have, model? HardDrive? PSU? Dumb question but i always ask on SLI/X-fire boards. Is the Vid Card in the 16x slot? Yes i had a board, an ASUS, 880 EVO GTD PRO on my Phenom Quad 3.4 build that the lower PCI-E was the primary slot and the upper was used for SLI only. Great board, but bad if you didnt read that little bit. Looks like you have it in the correct slot, never hurts to ask but even at x8 I dont think it would hurt EQ2's FPS.

You can see in your BIOS what and how many Cores you are running. If you are running any Newer ASUS(looks like you are becaus eof Asus GPU tweaker) i think its F4 that will activate the core unlocker but the newer boards also come with a toggle switch as well that would need to be switched(very obvious and it will make a pretty color too). Hopefully you have a UEFI bios so cutting off the cores and flipping them on is a quick fix.

Hopefully this is some help. Let me know what the rest of your build is if you want to try and push that bulldozer to what it can really do.

i have

Amd fx 8120 cpu
asus cross hair V motherboard
WD SATA 650gb HD ( I know it makes my windows score 5.9.... But i dont quite think SDD is ready yet.)

ram speed is 1600 , haven't overclocked it yet
I did some tinkering around getting the cpu to 4.6 and 4.8 i got it to hold stable but i wasnt wanting to over do it so i bumped it back down to the auto overclock of 4.074

Yes i have the cards in the right spot i believe.
