EQ2 wont launch after everquest2.exe was replaced

Brand new installation of everquest2. I downloaded inner space and installed, downloaded isxeq2 and installed. all worked fine up until I needed to replace my freshly installed EverQuest2.exe with the one compatible with ISXeq2.

Now when I launch eq2 from innerspace. eq2 window loads, and then I get the error "EQ2 Client Application has stopped working"

I am on windows 7, I have my UAC (User Account Control settings) slider bar all the way down to "Never notify"
(I don't know if this is how you turn it off in windows 7 or not? used to vista)

any ideas?

Need to know a few things to narrow this down. First, are you using the "streaming client" or the full install? -- Download/install the Station Launcher if you're unsure, and have it install to and/or patch your eq2 installation.

If you aren't using the streaming client, try a couple things to troubleshoot this.
  1. Launch EverQuest2.exe without using Inner Space. Just run it from explorer.
  2. Disable/remove the ext isxeq2 from the startup in inner space, if you had it set up.

If either of these has the same crash issue, it's not an isxeq2 issue.

I used the newer launcher client, that lists all the SoE games available for perches. that then requires you to select eq2, from the perches list and then an unfamiliar patcher comes up, that dose not look like the old school one. I am assuming that is the "streaming client" you where talking about ? I am bad with these things.

anyways I downloaded the older looking client and it updated it's self, I went to log on and it did it's usual scan, and is now downloading additional content. it says it has several hours to download. so perhaps this is my problem? When that finishes I will try again. am I on the right track? Thank you for the help!

aye, the first one you used was the streaming client and it is not supported. You are on the right track now though.

I let launch pad do its thing. I ran eq2 without ISX, and it worked. I then launched eq2 with ISX and it worked, but it said it unloaded ISX from the command promp when eq2 started. and did it's usual "if this is a new installation go to http://isxeq2.twonk.net/binaries/autoupdated/ and replace your everquest2.exe" So i closed eq2, I downloaded the top file from http://isxeq2.twonk.net/binaries/autoupdated/. I replaced it with my everquest2.exe file.

now when I launch eq2 (with ISX or not) it gives me the same error. (EQ2 Client Application has stopped working) Should I just remove eq2 entirely and let eq2 completely reinstall using the launch pad? or what are my options?

Okay, I think I figured out my dumb mistake guys.

From that site where it tells me to download the everquest2.exe I keep downloading the first one that shows up from like 2007. but I read the ISX: unloaded error more closely and realized I needed the everquest2.exe from jan-26-2010. So i think I am up and running now.

sorry about the stupid mistake, but thank you for the help!
