For anyone with low FPS in windowed mode

Since I assume most of us play EQ2 in windowed mode, I figure those of you who use Windows 7 (and maybe Vista) might find this information handy.

Apparently if you aren't using a windows "Aero Theme" on your desktop, and are in windowed mode, it takes a huge toll on your FPS in-game. I recently changed mine and my FPS jumped up by 30 (I just assumed EQ2 hated my graphics cards) with 4 instances of EQ2 runnning. Here is the post where it was found:

This does not affect Win 7 users, Windows Vista FTL.

It does affect Win 7 users, as that is what I am using.

I did this on my win7 box last night and saw the same 10 - 15 fps jump. I was shocked that this is not more known

I'm shocked it's not more known as well..one of the entire points of aero was to make a seamless 3d desktop to improve performance vs 2d/3d mixed.

But of course so many people dismissed it as 'fluff' and disabled it
