Force Patch Upcoming -- Ama

Ama,

I dont know if you want to spend time getting ISXEQ2 running off this patch as I predict there is going to be another one very shortly. The Devs, as usual from Sony, did not test all the changes they put in this patch and there is a lot of people crashing when opening inventory and guild windows on low res settings. There currently is no fix so I imagine a patch will be coming out to fix this within a few days.

Coolman,

I dont want to turn this post into a counter-flame but please dont post answers to something you obviously arent experiencing. There is a work-around that requires deleting files and setting your Performance to medium quality. If you turn off certain 'quality' settings or try to tone others down for increased FPS then it crashes. If 40+ people have already posted in regards to this and all saying that they havnt changed anything and the only way to play is either not to open your inventory or to have your settings higher than your computer can handle... i think that will require a patch. I have 2 computers side by side and my crap computer which has worked with EQ2 no problem for the last year is now crashing every time I open inventory. I deleted the files which set all my performance to medium and it wont crash but I can barely move...

Ama,

As figured, a post by a real EQ2 Programmer has addresssed this issue as being their problem and a hotfix will be out tomorrow:

It appears that the the trial assets are missing a shader that is required for the updated inventory window. We need to fix and rebuild the trial assets which should fix the problem you guys are experiencing. So its not your computers that are wrong its just that the update had an unintended effect on breaking the trial client.

It should also be noted that the other error with custom uis breaking with the updated ui should get fixed in tomorrows hotfix.

It appears SoE has fixed this problem without a forced patch. This can be found @

" Yup the trial fix should be out on the patchers now. Just repatch if you are using the trial and things should be alright now ".
