Heroic Drinal Strat

Need a strat for the Drinal fight. Seems SOE changed his fight recently and I can not figure out how to effectively kill him now.

Before all you had to worry about was his frontal now you have to worry about that and his spells that drain power/life.

its always been there, I just spirit tap once up top. Although hes always dead before the first frontal. I'll go run it now and see if anything has changed.

The incurable elemental drains power based on their proximity to Drinal, joust them and it hits for giggles.

How you quickly know who has the curse? I usually look to see who the priests are trying to cure, which is often the tank. I have also just let the toons stay in a circle around the platform far enough from each other to prevent the problem. That takes a little longer but gets the job done. If you turn off movement, the raid script? moves them into a circle automatically.

I blade dance the power drain the first time.
I move the guy with the curse across the circle from everyone.
I move behind when he emotes the frontal.

Still can not get him dead. I even tried putting the group in a circle around him at edge on platform so I would not have to Joust. Did not work. I am not in full raid gear yet, only about half for most of my guys. I am not sure what to try next.

Blade Dance won't work anymore as they changed it. You just need to get the person with the elemental away from the named ASAP. If you have an Inquis, pop DG and it'll cover you to move it away, or if a warden, your group HoT's should cover it.
Power should be fine with a Coercer, and a Mystic if you have it too for spirit tap.

I am sure there is an easy way to do this, but how do you find out which toon has the elemental? Do you tab through 6 toons or what? I have a big screen,
so the effect icons on other characters are REALLY tiny. I looked through the combat log and didn't see anything I could put in as a ACT trigger to tell me either.

It's an uncrable eletemntal effect and the only elemental effect in the fight. Pay attention to the group window.

Here is best strat I found:

After the first port on the pad:
place healer1 on east edge of platform
place healer2 on west edge of platform
place illy on south edge of platform

dps on move behind
tank facing illy in center of platform.

tank and spank after platform reaches top.


Thanks for all the input it helped me figure this fight out.
