How can I make the radar filter everything but what I want to see?

Ok I have been playing with this and I have a question I would like to show only one mob say "a mob name" only with the radar but I am not sure how to get it to pull in. I have tried /radar radar3 shownone then /radar radar3 filter a mob name and several other combonations that do not seem to work. Any help would be .. well .. helpful.

Ideally I would like to have everything hidden for a radar then do a filter to turn on a certain mob.

Thanks in advance

I also think the filter system would be alot more useful it would only show items in the filter instead of the current functionality of removing filtered items from the display.

I'm going to add an event next patch for when actors spawn, and then when they despawn.

That won't exactly fix this problem, but it will allow for you to have scripts that would 'alert' you when a particular mob spawns and create a waypoint to it.

Changing the filter like karye suggested would be a good idea, btw. That's how i try to use it every time i forget :)

When you filter something, you remove it from whatever you're filtering it from. So, logically ...if I "Filter dirt", then I'm removing the dirt ...not removing everything BUT the dirt.

You guys are wanting reverse filters. And, honestly, I think it might be more of a pain to add than it would be worth. But, I'll look into it.

The new events coming soon should allow someone to make a script that would serve as a very cool 'tracking' program. You could add actors that you want to be alerted when they "spawn" and have a neat HUD that would keep the information on the screen for you ..or alert you with sounds, or what have you.

would "spawn", include roaming into it's radius so teh server sends you info about it? (ie, max radar range, etc).

for radar, what i'm usually wanting is to set it to 1 mob, then set radar to max range and runaround waiting for it to appear.

Yes. That is how the client defines "spawning". When you first zone in or enter the game, they just all "spawn" at once if they're within range.

You will leave isxAIM once you see isxIRC probably ..hehe. ....if someon would just write an irc client for a cell phone, we'd be in business.

Hmmm..that's an idea...

I was just about to post a feature request saying the exact thing as the OP/Karye. I'm glad I searched! The way it is now, it can be a cumbersome task to filter out all the types I don't want... especially if there are alot of mobs in close proximity (try it in pillars of flames!). It works as it is now, but it would definitely be very useful to me if it worked with the reverse filter logic also.

May I also be so bold as to suggest a checkbox to switch from current to reverse "logic" for those who like it the way it is now? With the way I'm using the radar, events would not aid me in this situation since I'm not usually interested in finding a mob when it spawns. I just use it to find mobs of a type for a quest that says kill X mobs. In this case, I'm using radar to help me find a group of one type of mob in a much more efficient way than using track. The radar is such a useful tool, it's one of the reasons I use ISXEQ2/Innerspace! The change the OP/Karye suggested would make it even better imho.

ok, so when I filter water...?

yep, that's the last time I buy water that's been filtered by reverse osmosis! it's not really water folks, it's just had all the water removed!
