isxeq2 *currently* working?

Hi all,

I've just today installed innerspace/isxeq2, it all seems to load up ok.

I get a console window, where I can:

ext ISXEQ2

However, that brings up a popup message saying:

Your version of EverQuest2.exe does not match this build of ISXEQ2.
This particular build of ISXEQ2 was designed to work with the **FIRST** EverQuest2.exe that was patched on January 6, 2011.

So, reading on, I went to isxeq2.twonk.net and downloaded the earlier of the 2 versions with a Jan 6 date:

201101060715-EverQue..> 06-Jan-2011 07:15 6.5M
201101061100-EverQue..> 06-Jan-2011 11:00 6.5M

When run independantly of IS, it displays on the titelbar:

EverQuest II (Jan 5 2011 11:06:25) USER OPTIMIZED: SOEBuild=7237L

However, restarting everything, this version will not connect to the EQ2 servers themselves:

Login rejected: The client's version does not match the server's. Please re-run the patcher.

When I launch the game via IS, I am STILL getting the error that, Your version does not match...

An advice on what I am doing wrong, gratefully received!

i'm fairly certain it's the 2nd "06" zip from twonk (201101061100). you might want to try it again, make sure you're actually unzipping the archive, make sure you're placing the exe in your everquest 2 directory, make sure you don't have eq2 running while you do it, etc, etc. make certain you're not running launchpad (the patcher) from IS and repatching every time you start, too.

Ahah, yes, that one works.

The usage of the word FIRST and an admonition to make sure that you use the timestamp of the files was obviously confusing me =)

Thanks a bunch!

the confusion here comes from the fact that there were 2 patches on the 6th. The first one should have been marked as forced but it wasn't and ended up crashing lots of users. They then pushed another one that was actually a forced patch. Generally when there are 2 patches on the same day you use the first one. This time was the exception, not the rule.
