Single Group Progression

Love Ogrebot, worth every penny.. Still makes me smile seeing it work.. yes, takes some tuning, yes, wish there were more good cast-stack-profiles, but he had to leaves SOMETHING for you to do yourself....

Anyway, question for the long timers... Using AOM as your base, what was your single group progression? I find myself stuck, un-able to get beyond a certain point, and am both hoping for advice, and to help the 'newer' group ogre users with suggestions on how to progress.

------------------

Here was my progression, appreciate any advice people can share:

1. Level toons to 100, using <favorite zones>. 1 tank, 2 healers, 1 bard, 1 dps, 1 enchanter.
2. Make all mastercrafted armor/weapons for full group. White adorns for Crit Chance. White adorns for resists on all (6) spots. Ears, Wrists, Fingers.

Time to collect jewelery for resists, and blue/green armor to replace the MC'd.

Read this thread often : https://www.isxgames.com/f/threads/altar-of-malice-heroic-instances.7376/

1. Start with Brokenskull Bay : Bilgewater - keep at it till I could kill the first named. (Barnacle). Second named takes better gear/healing (good mage). Third Name is first serious healing check. By the time you can take the last named, you're ready to move on.
2. Try Zavith'Loa - The Hidden Caldera. Get past Petrotrainer (brutal at first, even with 2 healers, till your DPS is high enough)
3. Try Zavith'Loa - The Lost Caverns. Takes good healing

Go back to the thread - make sure I've mastered/harvested everything from the 1/7 & 2/7 zones.

ok, time to work on a 3/7.

Broken Skull : Yellow Jack isn't a 3. Should be a 4. Give it a shot, but don't be too disappointed when you get eaten.. come back to it.

Castle Highhold: Not bad, except for Sa'Dax Senshali - hate his mana-sucking pads.

Zavith'loa : The hunt - takes some really good healing, or high dps.. One of favorites, because it drops (3) pieces of jewelery pretty much every time.

Keep progressing up the thread, gearing up as you go.. Couple of notes:

Brokenskull: Boson's Private Stock - Mislabeled as a 4. Should be a 5. All your group members need 1M HP, and good healers to try this one.. the named locks the tank, then swarms arrive, and tank can't taunt off for 10+ seconds. Lots of group death.

Ssra Temple: Should also be a 5. The trash (temple stonecutters) drop a +1M pt hit that will 1-shot individual group members, unless there's a big ward up.

Keep gearing up, transitioning from 4/4 blue to 4/4 green... Til you can run all the 5/7' with no issues.

--------------------------

which brings me to my question.. Once you can run all the 5/7's.. what then? the 6/7 & 7/7's are out of reach, as is raid content. What do most people do then?

Those zone ratings were from the devs at launch.

6/7 zones will require you to have your group adorn and reforged properly to make them easier if you are only using group gear.
7/7 zones, like most expansions, are geared towards the top end heroic groups / raiders. There is always at least one, sometimes two zones that are like this.

All of your characters are using purple adorns and war runes? Have you found/bought Essence of Wars to be used for the HP charm on everyone? Are you fully reforged? Have you taken everything you can to max survivability? (It sounds like you are dying on trash instead of failing DPS checks.)

Just save some Blue AoE's on tanks for adds pop. They are every 10%. Hit them with an AoE and you'll have aggro each time.

As for progression, also remember you can use Rum Cellar for zones, both have an EM and HM option.
Also there is Fabled EoF zones, all 3 of which I'd rate at maybe Highhold level of difficulty.

Then with 1 group, you can kill at least 3 raid mobs easy, once a lot more geared, can probably push that up a few more.

Hey Cheesy, curious as to which raid names are one group able, after 1st in Dino, and 1st 2 in HH. I'm bored to death of this expac having done everything I thought I could with 1 group, but if there is another raid mob I could do I might consider playing again!

2nd in Pools, and the one shot named in Pools are technically 1 groupable. Pretty horrible to do, but possible.

Also with enough DPS at least 1 in Fabled Freethinkers, and perhaps some in BS, but never tried those.

Small update:

So the next place you should be working on are the Fabled Zones.. Most of the armor pieces that drop there, exceed 2/2 red stats, and in some cases, exceed 1/1 purples.

Start with Fabled Varsoons
Then Fabled Acadechism
Then Fabled Court of Innovation

Farm the 4-stack-makes-it-better cloaks till everyone has one.
Farm the jewelery
Farm the masters
Farm the useful armor (only about 25% of the drops.)

As others in this thread have said, you can also do the first two named in Castle x4, and at least the first named in Zavirh x4. Both drop jewelery with practiced/aura/uplift procs that improve the group healing and damage.
