Hi,
When i was updating my SVN file today, I got the message that there was a newer version of Tortoise SVN availabe.

I wasnt sure if I should download the newer version or not, since all my SVN files were updated with the verions that i am using atm. Where as if I had downloaded the new version, I am not sure that it would have updated since i doubt the old and new SVNs are compatible? Least that is what I gathered on tortoise website.

thx :p

I'm not sure where you got this idea...

TortoiseSVN 1.4.4 has been released, linked against Subversion 1.4.4.

This is a maintenance release and contains only bugfixes, no new features.
This is a standard maintenance/bugfix release...there hasn't been anything except fixes and a few small improvements in a while, as the main feature set is fairly stable.

If there was a major enough change that old repositories no longer worked, there would most likely be warnings all over the place, and a change to the major version number (ie it would be something like 2.0.0)
