Wondering if something crazy is possible...

This is probably quite a strange question, but wondering if anyone has ever tried to forward MCP requests/uplink Ogre over the internet...

I.E. open the Innerspace port on my firewall and set the uplink to use the public address. Just thinking crazy things like being able to leave my bots running on my home comp and run the uplink/mcp from my work computer.

Hmm, ran home on my lunch break and opened the port with a game session running. Can't seem to get it to connect ><

I suppose I could also setup a vpn to do it, which would most likely work.

hmm setup a vpn using windows 7 built in service. Can connect, but no name resolution. No DNS server setup but I would think netbios would work over the VPN. Adding it to the hosts file using the internal LAN address does work and I can browse the computer at home.

However uplink still won't connect. I assume this is because of the netbios problem but not sure how to resolve it. I guess I may have to setup an actual linux or windows server to run the VPN and provide name resolution.

This probably wasn't the best forum to discuss this, but I figured if anyone would have tried to do this for this purpose it would have been you guys.

finally got this working. Had to setup a dc with dhcp/dns/wins and RAS. But now can vpn in and fully utilize the uplink. Next step is setting up VNC for hands on control when needed.
