It's been out since the afternoon of the 25th. It should patch when you load it.

If not, then what's the exact messages that you're getting in the console window?

"Your version of Everquest2.exe does not mach this build.....

..... on August 25, 2011 ....

but a second patch occurred that corrected some AA reset issues on the 26th

if I reload the previous version I get constant freezes on my tank

You're not supposed to patch EQ2 unless forced to do so. Innerspace should launching EverQuest2.exe, not the patcher.

Aug. 26 was not forced, so ISXEQ2 was not updated for it. You'll need to download and use the EverQuest2.exe from http://isxeq2.twonk.net/binaries/autoupdated/.

If you had read the rest of the 'error message', you would have seen these instructions.

when I use that version my tank (kind of core ) freezes every 40 seconds or so for up to 1 min.

In addition, while not 'forced' using the version you suggest risks AA resets everytime you zone.

Until you fix this I will only be using ISX for crafting in the Guild Hall and will play a single session using the standard client

Just put the exe you need to use isx in a solo folder the exe from the 25.
Then just patch the game and replace the exe in the sony eq2 folder with the one you saved earler.

Thank you for the suggestion, I agree that this is an approach that should work, indeed it had occurred to me and I had implemented something of the sort.

However it concerns me greatly that ISX does not support unscheduled patches. I had heard something of this over the last year and indeed this is why I was reluctant to buy the product.

SOE in their boundless inertia put these unscheduled patches out to fix problems they consider desperate. In many cases these will be innocuous changes and can be deferred for later. However there will be occasions when there is a need for the patch.

How can I be sure that ISX will act promptly if they do not support these patches?

In this case I know one other ISX user had a number of AA resets probably due to the absence of this patch. The problem vexed him greatly, he blamed SOE for the problem, not entirely unfair I agree, however the lack of ISX support for the patch likely contributed.

If enough folks claim that there is a serious problem that requires an ISXEQ2 update on a non-forced patch, I will do one. However, *NONE* of the script writers or other isxeq2 community leaders has requested it. In fact, no one mentioned it at all today in IRC (other than to say that it was not a forced patch.)

Come to IRC and talk to them and others if you feel strongly about it. However, I see no reason to update isxeq2 for non-forced patches except when requested by a majority of users.

This is the first non-forced-patch in months, by the way. I updated isxeq2 twice a week for two months after the last expansion and every one of them in a major pain in the ass. So, no, I'm not going to do it unless it's necessary to do so.
