Unfortunately, all the games are pretty much the same thing and lore only takes you so far. If you're not killing rats, you're killing something equally easy at the low levels and just as hard at the higher levels.
The one promising thing about AoC is the unparalleled combat system. Unlike EVERY single game out there, you aren't just mashing buttons in an abstract combat system.... you're actually watching the screen, adjusting your combat style and using some degree of skill.
But... this style isn't for everyone.

Amadeus, I am willing to toss a few hundred $$ into the pool for a AoC ISX. I know a few hundred is nothing what a skilled programmer is worth. If you need an account I can provide one of those too. I am not sure if this one will have legs but it would be pretty killer to have a tool for radar if nothing else.

We'll see how popular the game is in 6 months and if anyone else has done anything for it that is as good or better than what I could do.
I have no motivation for logging into the game ....I find everything about Conan utterly boring and all of the things people are ranting about seem like the same old shit over and over again with prettier pictures.
PvP games attract people with which I have no interest in hanging around. Even in EVE, the whole pvp thing makes me want to smack people ...everyone throwing their dicks around trying to show how big they are compared to everyone else. I think that anyone that gets ANY sort of enjoyment out of killing someone else (even virtually) needs to seek help. In fun, arena type stuff, sure ...and even 1st person shooters ....but, a game like an MMO where you spend TONS of time developing a character and building your shit ...and then for someone to ENJOY killing you and all your hard work? I don't want to have any part of it.
So, we'll see ....maybe I do it some day for the money ...but it won't be any time soon. If the game is as good as you say, then someone over at ISXWOW will do it I'm sure. Personally, I'd rather wait for Star Gate Worlds ..or ANYTHING that is different from the same fantasy role playing games that have been out forever.
Go play EQ2 again if you want a good game with a good isx extension. I just played two characters from 1-80 recently and REALLY enjoyed it. It's a much better game than it used to be ...and there are still tons of shit to do. There is a lot of life left in EQ2 ...enough so that I am not interested in taking time away from playing it to play another game.
