Any Plan Match For Beta Server?

Amadeus typically does not do beta extensions. SOE will patch beta frequently and it would cause extra work for him for almost no gain. In the past, the only time he created a beta extension was for the testing of a specific major feature.

bjcasey's answer is correct. I've tried it in the past, and it's just not worth it.

However, for what it's worth, I've discovered that in the past the nasty patch was always weeks before the actual expansion goes live (i.e., the one we had last week would be a good candidate.) So, USUALLY, the actual patch day for an expansion isn't so bad. But, of course, this is just past experiences -- this expansion could be completely different.

Hi. I was wondering if I played the beta and patched files for beta if that would miss up my bots for the regular server? I just decided to try out the beta a few days ago and now isxeq2 is giving me that error message you get after a patch day. Thanks so much.

make sure you switch back to non-beta then patch. they are different game versions, patching one doesn't patch the other.

Litewave is correct. It does not affect your regular server playing, but if they force patch (like they did on Thursday) your regular server you need to make sure you switch the patcher back to live to fix things.

I was hoping for the bot to work on beta hehe... but I guess ill have to play manually to do the questline for the mount.

Why would you take the time to do a questline on the beta server? I mean, I never really understood why anyone would pay a software company while testing their software...but, actually "playing" the game (i.e., doing quests) seems completely crazy to me. I guess it would make sense if you didn't plan to do it when it goes live and just wanted to experience the content now...but, otherwise, it seems a complete waste of time.

I'm less interested in isxeq2 working on beta than I am in how soon after the expansion launches isxeq2 will be patched. I know you have a schedule, real life, etc and still get us updated very quickly, but perhaps we could start an extra donation pot to get it for everyone even sooner when the expansion goes live. I'd be willing to put in $20, personally (paid as soon as/if you accept this idea)

There is no amount of money that could make it happen any faster than it would already. I update ISXEQ2 as quickly as humanly possible given my schedule, and my schedule isn't adjustable.

As I mentioned before, expansion patches are not usually a big deal -- the "big patch" typically comes a couple of months prior (i.e., the one we had back in September.) I could be wrong, and we'll certainly see; however, I figure it will be very similar to every other weekly patch with regard to how quickly it's released. It might be an extra few hours, but I don't expect it to take multiple days at this point.

Besides, delaying the release of ISXEQ2 slightly after the beta comes out levels the playing field for those players that want to play traditionally and have a chance at getting server/world first achievements, etc. As I've stated many times, I have no desire to ruin the gaming experience for other players.
