AoA: Pharinich (the red text joust guy)

So I was wondering if the raid option for this fight is working correctly for everyone else.
It's really.. all over the place for me. Sometimes people with the curse move away from the rest of the group, sometimes they don't. Sometimes the group jousts the red text, sometimes they don't. It seems like both camp spots are the same. so more often than not, when they do joust, they just jump on top of each other and spread the curse.

I'm one grouping it, and I dunno if that has something to do with it. But my current work around is to campspot everyone about 5 meters apart and joust the mob instead of the group.
Can someone give me some insight? When I get my second group up and running, that probably won't be a viable strategy.

Thanks

Make sure All toons have 'Move to Area' and Raid options enabled
Also for reasons Im unsure, it only works if you are actually in a raid. I personally just made a F2P account and raid invite a level 1 character to do so. (Need it for first in ST as well etc)

Other than that, walk slightly into room, campspot all toons, set up for Pharinich, and done. Do NOT hit Joust-In

I don't use Kannkor's script on this one, mostly because I don't care about that curse. I turn off raid options and camp my guys at the entrance (a few tiles into the room). Then I pull and run my tank to the sconce on the right, tell my toons to joust-in at 99%. When I get the red text, I hit joust-out and I run to the sconce on the other side of the room. I ignore the power drain b.s. because I run with a coercer in each group. Joust-in when he's done lighting himself on fire and repeat.

Taub's method is how I do it. The bots can get confused by the multiple red texts that can pop up right in a row. When that happens it delays the bots because the red text scrolling is super slow and they move based off that. They will eventually move too late and wipe.

So for this guy we turn off raid options, campspot just inside the door a few steps and joust out manually. Can leave any ranged types you have at the camp spot if you don't want to have them moving during the fight.

Kannkors script works great for me you just can't ever press joust in or the campspots get screwy. I have started just burning through you can use bd and eqlib on the red text I do set a camp spot incase I doubt get him down after one bd and two eqlib.

Wrong wrong wrong wrong.

The red text YOU see, has nothing to do with when the bot sees the red text. The bot sees them the instant your client is aware of them (IE: when the server sends it to your client, then your client will display them at the appropriate time).

It's possible there is an issue with the raid code, but seems odd that (assuming you are in a raid), that you're the only one experiencing issues.

I will chime in on this thread. I have had very poor luck with this fight and the raid script working as well. I am not in a raid and just one group this zone so I am not sure if that's part of my problem. When the script works only a few members of the group I am in will actually change the joust point and move to the new location. I do have MovetoArea on and the RaidOptions and I don't use the JoustIn command on the fight. None of the group members will move away from the group when the curse lands.

Let me know if there is any additional information you need.

sometimes you need to be in a raid on some of kannkors scripts. Just do like one person said make a free account and invite a level 1 toon doesn't have to move or go in with you but according to ogre you are in a raid so the scripts will work. Kannkor's lazy like that and doesn't think of the one group when he writs his scripts! :)

Sigh... do you think we could convince him to change it to work with just 1 group? It worked flawlessly in there with a raid formed (6+1). Its funny since thats the only one that does that too me. The scripts in Harrows work wonderful.

Cant you just camp spot your group and then move him where u want with your tank? Or just set to camp spots manually that you can joust in and out too?

Yes you can. That's the way I've done this fight in the past and it works rather well. I just feel like being a bit lazy from time to time and it would be rude to not use the wonderful scripting that Kannkor has setup for us to use...:D

Generally speaking, when I script a new fight, it's the week of when the fight came out. Generally speaking, people aren't 1 grouping very much raid content on the first week (more and more exceptions to this rule are starting to appear...).

As for why only this fight (and a very few others) have issues when not in raid, is the mechanics of the fight. In this case, it has to scan the raid to determine if you are the first, or second person with the curse. If you aren't in a raid, then you can't scan your group via the raid information. So to make this 'group friendly', I need to duplicate all of the code and use group instead of raid. While not "difficult", it just takes time I'd rather spend putting into something else.
Many fights have no baring on if you are in a raid or not. It's a red text - move etc. In this case, there's more to it, such as when a red text comes, it has to handle if you have the curse, and it's probably failing on checking part of the raid.

I'll try to have a look at it next time I'm looking for an excuse not to adorn and reforge my toons... but make no promises :)

Anyways, long story short, it's Kevinshp's fault for putting in so many feature requests that I don't have time to work on this. All blame goes to him.

Like you ever put one of mine in! And goes back to what I said befor kannkor's LAZY

I one group it aswell and friend gave me the idea to park the healers on each side 20m from were i park the mob. I run my warden for this fight with a swash so no need to joust the group. Does the trick even with an illy power drain is annoying but only adds a couple minutes to the fight at best.

Hope that helps, you can alternatively joust your dps in and out.

Yikes. I think it would be easier if I just made a ftp dummy account for a raid invite. Thanks for replying and the willingness to look at it later as your time permits.

if we give the bots +int consumables, will it help to minimize them getting confused when too many things happen at once
