Auto-Tinkering and Guild Halls

Is there any way to allow the buying of Tinkering recipes to work in the Guild Hall? They are on the normal recipe vendor these days and currently I am stuck with either gathering up and carrying a ton of materials with me to Steamfont and manually buying fuel (for some reason the Auto-Tinker thing doesn't see the vendor in Steamfont as a fuel vendor - probably because they named it Tinkering Vendor) and crafting until I run out THEN manually getting stuff again OR I can manually keep buying recipes in the guild hall, try to figure out how to manage myself around the hall to the stations (auto movement is flaky), etc.

The above has caused the 'auto' portion of Auto-Tinkering to become a misnomer. ;p

To answer your question, no... There is no way to buy the books from the guild hall.

To answer your problelm, if you have the room in your bags to pack up all those misc. raws, why not just pop out to SF and get the books, come home and hit "go?"

Maybe I wasn't overly clear - that tends to happen as I type in a stream of thought. You CAN buy the Tinkering recipes from the recipe vendor in the Guild Hall these days, they aren't only available in SF. My question was if we could make the button on the Auto-Tinkering tab not restrict itself to doing it only in SF as that is no longer a restriction the game imposes.

i suspect kannkor just needs to know they're available on the gh vendor (which he will now!), but yes you weren't very clear and nup's suggestion beats the oddball way you said you're doing it (maybe you don't realize you can buy *all* the tinker books at once in SF, I dunno).

I do know you can buy them all at once but my question was more to remove the restriction related to the automatic portion on the tab.

can you explain it again.
Surely. And allow me to state that I'm not claiming that this is a game-breaking issue by any means - more of a 'nice to have'. When I saw that there was 'Auto Tinkering', I thought - Sweet! I can slap myself in the guild hall, push the button and assuming I had the components in the harvest depot I was GTG.. but that didn't happen. :(

In any event - on to the basic explanation.

When you are in the Guild Hall and have a Recipe vendor it would be nice if you could click the Buy Tinker Recipes button and have it function. Currently it tells you that you have to be in Steamfont for it to work even though the recipes are now available on the GH recipe vendor.

That is about as clear as I can make it, I think. I'm not claiming that there aren't ways to work around it - I'm just asking that the restriction be removed to expand the existing capability.

primalz already answered this.

Kannkor, we can now buy the books off the guild dude, update your shit.

The last time someone told me all recipes were available in GH, it was only half of them. If someone can confirm you can buy them all at level 1 in GH, sure. If not, tell me exactly what is available, and when.

I skimmed, but is there any reason you didn't go to SF, buy all the recipes, then craft back in your GH? That was the original intent.

I'll check and see if they are all there - it's a valid point. Certainly a good quantity of them are there and I can't think if why they all wouldn't be but this IS SOE we're talking about.

As for the original intent, I couldn't glean that from the FAQ page on the tab so I wasn't aware that you meant for people to go there, buy them all and then pop home. Even with six 44 slot containers on my character I don't have a ton of space open with extra sets of gear, quest items, etc. taking up real estate so I don't think I can buy them all in one pass without dumping a lot of crap out of my bags.

As I've said - it isn't like this request is game breaking and demanding a fix - I was just perplexed as to why it wouldn't work in the GH and figured I would mention it. If it is a pain to change or you have a reason you don't want to do it (even if that reason is 'because I don't want to'), that's fine with me and I'll perserve. ;p

What I do, is dump a few bags into my bank and grab some empty ones, then go and do it.

Okay, I just logged into check...

There's 20 of like 60 recipes available in a guild hall. So, we're back to you can't buy them in the GH.

Unless they added them in recently, the guild hall vendor doesn't have all the recipes. You still had to go to SF to get the later ones, or at least I did.
