It's primary use(s) are the following:
Wiz - Fiery blast
Assassin - PFT/Follow-up chains
Bard - RO chains.

For the most part, it will work best on longer fights, or named fights where you want these specific things to happen. On shorter fights you could do a hack job of any of these in your ca/named ca tab, however when you wanted it a second time during the fight, it didn't do the job very well.

I'm still tweaking this tab, and I don't think anyone has put an extensive amount of testing into it. I know some wizards have seen a good boost to their fiery blasts, but sort of that I don't expect to see amazing things. But, it was something people really wanted...

This tab has worked amazingly for FB. But I think it's best function atm is for Assassins and their PFT/concealment chains because of how finicky the CAs are.

I do have a question/suggestion though.. Is there anyway to make an option for spells inside the chain to be named only?

This would really only apply to Assassins and Wizards tbh. Using a concealment/FFU chain on trash is nice, but a PFT chain with assassinate is best on nameds. Same goes for wizzys with sanguine and manaburn.

Awesome feature though, I love it!

I would think you put the chain command in the named tab.

Well, yeah. I meant to be able to use the chain on trash and nameds, but only have specific CAs used on nameds. No sense in burning big attacks on trash mobs.

Chain Tab:
- Fiery Blast
- Manaburn
- Ice Comet
- Fireball
- Fusion
- Rays of Des
- Thunderclap

Then in the CA add the ChainTab selection and put it somewhere. Ill post a screen shot if I get time today. But it's not rocket science ...

Could you elaborate more on the Conc/FFU chain on named? Does this tab over ride the Named tab? Currently I do not use the named tab on any of my toons (just hadn't set it up yet, but will this weekend). I currently have PFT and Concealment setup I believe as its shown in the FAQ but I'm not sure how good the setup is. I'm hoping to have some time to tweak it so I'm curious as to how the Chain tab is better than say priority or Named.

Chain question

If your chain tab is waiting on a spell say with a 2 min timer; does it hold all the other spells in the chain tab from being used in the CA tab? Does it know that it can use x spell 3 times before x spell is ready to use?

Thanks

It knows your reuse abilities, and will allow abilities that won't affect the chain.

In short, it checks all your abilities to find the longest reuse, then will let any spell in the CA tab and on the chain tab cast as long as it will be back up for the chain.

Instruction manual for chain tab?

I know this has been around a while...and I'm thick, but is there a detailed description of how the chain tab works (with examples) anywhere?

I have trouble getting my head around how it impacts items on your CA or named CA tabs (outside the chain), and whether it casts the items in the chain, or simply holds them back. I'd like to use it to get some nice little dps runs going, but don't think it works for me. Maybe my precast tab is conflicting?

CA and Named CA is a priority list and will cast spells/cas based on availability and how far up the list they are.

Chain tab is a set casting order that will be followed everytime. It calculates the longest recast spell/ca in the list and will only run the chain once everything is ready to be cast (unless you choose optional for certain spells). It will only hold spells/cas back if the recast of that spell would be longer than the longest spells/cas recast.

Example (Made up numbers):

Assassinate has a 10 minute recast.
Ability A has a 30 second recast.
Ability B has a 3 minute recast.
Ability C has a 5 minute recast.

It runs the chain and casts all four abilities in order from assassinate to ability C. Then as ability A, B, and C become available it will cast them again, but only if the remaining recast time of Assassinate is more than 5 minutes. This would mean that Ability B is going to be cast 3 times (3+3+3 = 9 Minutes) and will be held back for 1 minute while assassinate recast finishes. The it would start the chain all over again.

If I've missed something or have something wrong, I'm sure Kannkor will be around soon. :)

Only thing I'll add to BJ, is you need to add "ChainTab" to the CA or NamedCA list. And you can't have any ability IN the chaintab, above the "ChainTab", otherwise it won't know to hold it back before it gets to it.
