combat drones and mining

I'm having an issue where when mining my drones are being dropped after the rats attack and because of that they just sit there idle until my shields get beat down low enough to make me warp to base. is there a way to make them deploy as soon as you start mining stay out and recalled only when leaving with full cargo?

i was able to work around the problem by making sure my mining ship left a lock open seems the ship has to be able to lock to tell the drones to go if your mining 2 asteroids ship cant lock and wont defend until a mining cycle finishes

yes thats right, if you have two miners and the bot activate both of them the drones start and return back to the hangar. if you stop one of the miners the drones start and begin to mine, as long as the secon miner dont start to mine.

or, the bot need just another target to lock, for example a third, so the drones can attack / mine this?

would be nice if someone could check the script for that error.
