It's a nice game with an utterly buggy shitty client. (Not in a way you can throw hardware at either, it's just buggy/clunky and still full of memleaks.) It has a nice "this is a game for hard-core gamers" feel, but I'm just plain not hard-core enough to wade through he bugs I guess...I can only play it in small doses. If they fix it and relaunch, they might really have something, but for now you're better off just dinking around with Eve or looking for something new.
If you're like me and played EQ2 for a while before you got fed up at sony and quit, I'd give that another try (or give it a look if you've never played it.) They seem to have changed gears with their development process at some point about two years ago, and IMO turned it into a pretty sweet game. They've "stolen" or improved on nearly every feature WoW had over it, while keeping a lot of the "gritty" feel of the original EQ what WoW just lost. I stopped playing it when I originally hit the level cap and ran out of things to do, and only started again on a lark because my girlfriend was bitching she was bored, but we were both incredibly impressed with the positive changes they'd made. Not just bug, fixes and adding more icing but genuine changes to some of the deep mechanics and whatnot. Good stuff. Still not my dream game, but with all the stuff on offer out there now...
