Dirge

My dirge is an asshole. He gets all the newest upgrades, all the runes, and all the love. Yet he refuses to do anything but to earn his keep. He's such an asshole. I've combed the posts to try and make him better dps wise and I am at a loss. Spent hours going over the cast stck and spells/abilities and trying different profiles, but in the end he can't help but be that friend who's always a dollar short and a day late for the move.

Can anyone offer some advice? Not looking for profiles as I understand the time and effort in making them. Just hoping for a few tidbits to get me pointed in the right direction. Having a hard time making some of these dps checks with him parsing 1mil on a 6 minute fight.

My dirge is OK geared (mix of blue and green gem AoM WDB gear) and does no where near that. I'm using Saha's profile from last expac with some changes for new prestige and more debuffing while I get the group geared. Maybe I should turn cast stack off completely

Just like Cheesy said. Lots of WDB gear. Proper adorning helps too. And a decent cast stack.

I must be missing some of the WDB gear, because I'm not averaging 5mill at all. Although, with better groups I will hit between 4-5mill. I'm not yet up to the part where I can do groups on my own, waiting for my next check to buy all the expansions and start leveling myself up.

I was curious though if you could point me some where to see the AA Spec?

Yeah I don't get anywhere near 5mill either. More like 2.2mill. I'm decently geared wearing new xpac stuff now and still nowhere near it.

I have yet to see any dirge, even ones from top raid guilds on my server do anywhere near 5 mil ST dps. AOE sure but that is not a valid measure of how much dps they should do... Most are around 2.5 mil at absolute best.

It is absolutely possible, even for a heroic gear bard.

If your hit rates are bad the flurry cloak/belt with weapon skills might be worth a look

I think weapon skills for this expansion people are saying target is 1600 along with 25% accuracy. I've ran double dirge group and the other dirge had 2100 weapon skill 25 accuracy where I just have 1680WS and 25Accuracy. One zone I averaged 97% hit rate on my auto attack and the next one was 98%. She hit 89% and 93%. The only difference I could see was the fact she had level 95 weapons where I had master crafted 98 weapons. So that may be something to look at.

With the right tank pulling I averaged 4.1mill and 3.8mill in the two Dino zones. I can't remember the group set up, though. That was before I actually started getting green gem gear, I had two blues gemmes out and one green, the other stuff was over powered, not the glass cannon gear. I was just curious about the 5 mill because it said like it was such a casual thing to hit.

Definitely should be using 98+ weaps (if you can. Can still parse fine without them). I won't settle for under 2k WS, personally. I'm on the fence about accuracy (for heroic content). Seen minimal gains going to 25 in hitrate (personally). Not saying it's irrelevant, as it isn't. Others may have different results/opinions, of course (and I am always open to hearing them). Raid content is a different scene, imho.

Re: Difference in the 2 bard group: What were both bards DPS and CB mods, and Agility, and ..... ? You can't just look at wpn skill and acc alone....

Nice info, btw, I'm trying to follow the advise but being well geared I can't reach 5 Mill so my profile and aas are not good I suppose, I'm not good with dirges, I don't know the class well. Any chance we can take a look on any 5 mill dirge profile and aas? If you want we can share any other profile in exchange, send me a pm if you don't want to see it public. Thanks

I was talking more about Hit Rate, which DPS, CB and Agility shouldn't effect hit rate.

And Riven I'll post my AA line sometime this week, although I may be switching it up again on how I have some points distributed. I did manage to hit 4.9Mill ZW in Dino's but it was another double bard group and we were alternating VC every time, so, that is the only way I'm getting close to a 5mill average.

Ya, ours is quite a bit different. Keep in mind, I main with my dirge now. He isn't set up to be part of a larger group which I'm working on leveling up the other four toons to do so right now.

Okay, give me a bit to figure it out. I downloaded it from EQ2U. For yours all I did was dump the AA file into my main EQ2 Folder and Load it from there, I didn't use the .xml file you had posted so didn't think you'd need it. Let me tinker around for a minute or two.

I'm not quite sure how to get the ogre profile portion of it. I just dropped your .AA file into the main and loaded it to take a glance at it. How do I get that portion of it?

Edit: Ohh I see what it is now. Is that the pre-cast and post-cast order into an .xml file? I haven't gotten to those yet, that is why I say I main my dirge, as in I play him in groups myself. I've been using ogre for the crafting and ISX for Radar to harvest with. I'm just now getting to the point where I'm going to level 4 more toons to 100 and start attempting this. Right now, I have zero idea on how to do this sort of stuff. I'm trying to find areas in Tutorials and what not now.

I think I can put my casting order into it. Give me a day or two and I may be able to have something for you.

How much WDB are you guys running? I have just started to gear my dirge and Im taking all the green and fabled WDB gear i can get just wondered if there was a cap or a point I should start working on other stats?
