eq2botcommander appears to be detectable by the game

When I end eq2botcommander, it registers that i have ended it in the game text window. If the everquest2 program can register that the script was ended, I am concerned that it could be detected by SOE.

lol ..the EQ2BotCommander script sends it to the game window. There is an ISXEQ2 command for doing that.

People have been paranoid for years about this; however, I've seen scripts and used scripts that have written to the game window since 2005 and I can tell you that it's not discoverable by SOE unless *you* do a petition or something else that would send the last few lines that were sent to your window.

In other words, it's perfectly safe. But, if you don't like it, just open up eq2botcommander.iss and erase this line:
Code:
    EQ2Echo Ending EQ2BotCommander!
..or, change it to 'echo' instead of 'eq2echo' and then it will go to the console window.

thanks amadeus, As i am paranoid, removed the line. But now i realize I am probably silly and can breathe a sigh of relief.

Don't forget amadeus, someone else can make a petition bringing a GM's attention to you and they can look at your chat log there as well. I prefer to have 0 output going to the EQ2 window.

A gm can pull chat logs but the logs they can pull are server side. They would not include information isxeq2 sent to your own client. When you petition yourself it copies part of your local chat log and sends it along with your petition.
