Few problems im having

Hello,

So one problem I'm having is Im trying to set up auto login to log in 3 characters and I go to the Autologin.iss file and there is no option to edit that file like the xtml files are. Is there some program i need to edit this file?

Another thing I'm pretty new to Ogrebot but I went through a lot of the wiki on ogrebot and I'm unsure of what exactly ogre bot was intended for or mainly used for. Is the bot suppose to run a dungeon on its own or do you have to run through with it and target the mob and then it goes to town. I know there is auto hunt and it pulls mobs around its vicinity but is there a way for it to just dungeon crawl or this bot is more so only for to fight for you while you move the group all on auto follow?

Also I'm using one of the sample profiles that was profived on the wiki and I noticed you can set your bots to follow and assist on that alias like for example it will say tank1 tank2 whats there difference and how do I know what those 2 tank 1 and 2 actually do

thanks for your time

I use notepad++ but you can use any basic text editor. You could even use microsoft word to open it.

I like notepad++ because it gives me syntax errors on some lines, and makes everything look all pretty and neat. I like pretty things.

Ogrebot is used primarily for fighting against mobs. You know, the kind that you need to kill?

It has some neat functionality that will allow it to be more useful in some instanced zones by having some things coded in. If you need to click on something at a certain time, there will be options to enable teh clicking.... blah blah blah.

It is not intended to be used for afk game play, none of us here will really condone automated game play as it draws too much attention to us and our community. However, some of the uses I have for it is it does much better dps than I could do on my own. So I'll load up my custom profile and then just run around while the bot takes care of the heavy lifting and the bopping of Peter Cottontail and so forth.

On the alias tab you can set up custom alias'. The differance will be in the group member you assign to each alias. For example, say I want Kannkor to tank for me, but Nuprecon is going to be my assist. I'd set already have a bunch of spells set up for "Tank1" and "Tank2" so I would just skip over to the alias tab and change the name for "Tank1" from "Yourmomsucksgood" to "Kannkor" and all those spells will switch to him.

I hope I have assisted you today, please don't hesitate to come back and ask more questions. Also, feel free to join in IRC and ask there. There isn't always some one paying attention, but if you have a legit question and you hang out long enough, some one will see it and offer you an answer.

ok I understand the benefit of the alias, so im using some of the sample profiles from the wiki and on my list it has tank 1 2 and 3 i don't know what functions they will have because i would like to use 1 of them for my main tank and another one for my main assist im assuming healers would be going on main assist as well

another thing my troub keeps buffing and rebuffing in the mini window it says troub has reached max concentration removing buffs and rebuffing he wont stop how do I fix that.

Lastly I am using a dekstop and laptop 3 sessions on each i set up the up link on my first pc I have it as my desktop name then my laptop name. On my laptop I have it as my laptop name then my desktop name in the eq2chars. Now i tried a somple test in game I have all chars set up i press hold up on the combat MCP and only the pc im on they stop following but not on my other computer the laptop they dont recognize, is there something else im suppose to set up for the uplink to work right

Alias' are just there for the hell of it. You can delete them all / rename them to mean anything you want them to mean. Look outside the box on that one.

With the concentration, you either messed with the buffs and forgot to take one that requires concentration out, or you aren't spec'd to have free concentration on something that the builder of your profile was counting on. Basiclly, you are configured to cast too much concentration. The bot is looking to see if you have the spell buff on, but you don't... So it recasts it.

Aliases greatly differ based on the style of play someone has. I generally delete the majority of aliases and things before I ever post a file, because trying to explain the way I do things just isn't worth the time.

An alias is just a lookup.
Tank1=Kannkor

Simply means anywhere 'Tank1' is used, use the name 'Kannkor' instead.

Here are some more exmaples.

Tank1
Tank2
Tank3 - If you're in a raid, you may want to heal all 3 tanks. Doing them in a specific order etc.

Tank=Kannkor
Tank=Nup
Tank=Joe

In this case, it resolves to the first one available.
Lets say my normal group has 'Kannkor', the amazing guardian. But every once in a while, I want 'Nup' the monk in the group. By having the aliases set up this way, the buffing/healing is IDENTICAL regardless which tank. If both Kannkor and Nup aren't in the group, then it checks if Joe is.
