Gold vs Silver

Hi all

I have reached a point now where i am getting very little upgrades for you team, and i have most of the spells mastered.

I was considering dropping them all down to silver and just unlocking all the equipment, and since i got my masters when i was gold i believe they still remain active.
I am not into the SLR so i dont have 8K plat coming in every month to buy chrono's.

Is there any real disadvantages of going silver ?
(also curious if i reforge or adorn do i need to unlock and item again?)

Any input would be appreciated as always.

was thinking about this recently myself.. its what like 500sc to unlock full set of gear. not sure on the reforge question though, curious to see that answer as well.

I recently started playing again after about a year hiatus. I decided to upgrade my main account to gold so I have the option to sell items on the broker. Other than that my other 5 accounts are all silver.

When I left I had so much SC built up on my accounts that I have yet to spend any real money on equipment. It sounds like your way ahead of the curve when it comes to unlocking equipment and masters. I've had to unlock basically 2 sets of equipment so far and upgrade/unlock all the new masters from 92-95.

As far as reforging or adornments go, that doesn't affect anything. As long as you unlock the equipment once you’re fine.

Silver can reforge without having to unlock again. The only real downsides to Silver that I can think of (outside of unlocking decent gear) are the annoying upgrade notices, and the inability to use the researcher to Master level spells/CAs. The coin and bag limits were removed some time ago. It takes 40 SC to unlock a single piece of gear.

Edit: As Orion said above, also the broker thing if you need to sell items.

It's quite a bit different for me... but here's how I do things and why.

I don't buy any loot rights, and I don't sell any loot rights, which means over time, my plat just continually increases.

For me, it's what is the most convenient, I need either:
1) Buy SC (via plat)
2) Buy Krono (via plat)

Buying SC has become a huge pain in the ass, and with there always being a risk of being scammed to someone (be me, or the person selling), Kronos are just WAY easier. Watch chat/buy from broker and call it a day.

Having said that, I think everyone should do the SC method, so Kronos come down in price making it cheaper for me... ... Just saying :)
