This may or may not be related...

On Vista I was having the same issue. (Different operating system.. but who knows). UAC for some reason was forcing all EQ2 sessions onto Core1. Even when I did proc affinities and assigned procs in task manager, it didn't seem to matter, after 30 seconds everything was back on Core1.

Now, I don't recommend this to anyone, so I'm not suggesting you do it unless it's for testing.

When I disabled UAC, everything went to using all 4 Cores and I didn't have the problem.

Could be a few things, if you have a ATI card someone had similar issue with having the vertical refresh option on. Was in the forums not too long ago. Also in order to use cores effectivly you would have to use the core forcing option, if you use ISBoxer to set everything up however it would automatically use that option. I would also make sure multicore is turned off on the clients too.

yea i have an ati hd4870 x2. but its weird it works great but after prolonged playing the FPS drops even on a single client. like i get 80-90fps on a single client but if i go away logged in for an hour or so i will come back with 5-10fps on a single client? its very frustrating
