Help with EQ2Bot

I have a level 1 wizard I'm testing with eq2bot. I've left all the default settings alone. When I run it nothing is happening, but after I attack something the bot starts to run.

I've tried Manual and AH and none of them work for me. I also set the scan range to max.

Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?

might want to look over all the settings, by default the bot won't initiate combat with anything that doesn't already hate you.

I can tell you a few ideas:

1) make sure you have yourself checked as the MT and MA

2) make sure you have auto pull on and a legitimate pull method selected

3) make sure under eq2bot options that you have the ignore boxes checked the right way

4) a lot of shit doesn't work at level 1, so go manually level him up to 12 or so and try again.

Dungeon crawl makes them move around the best.

Choose DC in main menu, go to nav tab and select DC radio button and click the Start Pather button.

Run the path you want to take( may need to have a totem of the chameleon for invis to survive making the path) and press create finish at the end of your run then select save navigation for the path you just made. No wonky Start/Finish like the harvester...no need for POI or anything, just start, run the path, click finish and then save the path.

Now, make sure you have some pull method set. I never understood why there isn't a "run to the mob and beat the crap out of it" choice, but there isn't. So, use the pull down to set a spell/CA and make sure the refresh timer on that spell is the lowest for all the aggro spells you have. Set the range and press SET button to have eq2bot remember the spell.

I always close eq2bot then restart it at this point. That way I know everything is saved and I go back and check my various settings. EQ2Bot likes dangling a number on the spell pull range...which will break the pull spell, or do other crazy things. So, better safe than sorry...close it using the X in the upper right and restart it.

I think that is it...you of course should tweak the Class tab and ignore tab embedded in the eq2bot options tab...but otherwise, you are ready to press Start EQ2Bot on the main tab.

haha, hoping to avoid future posts, but I suppose there is a balance...tell and hope they pay attention, don't tell and point at the rtfm sign...I guess somewhere in the middle is better than your check your settings and my here's a spoon, now eat.

I got all that stuff right but when i move to start and try to actually run it..my bot disappears and nothing happens. I just stand there in game. How do i fix it

By "bot disappears" I assume you mean the EQ2Bot window? Unless you click the hide window option, it shouldn't be disappearing. If it is, then it may be crashing or catching an error and ending and that's when you need to open the console window and see what the error is.

Can't help ya beyond that...

There's some posts by Ama about re-installing eq2bot or updating it from SVN, basically keep an eye out on the boards for any posts from him and then follow his word if you want everything to stay working..
