How I got banned today.

I wanted to share this information so that others could avoid this uncomfortable experience.

SoE is now auto-banning accounts that charge to the same billing credit card on the same day. It seems 2 might be safe but more than 2 is bad.

On monday I bought the bloodlines expansion on 5 accounts to do the Vampire Mastery quest. That produced 5 charges to the same credit card. I've done similar things in the past with no problems.

Today those 5 accounts were banned.

I had to call SoE, explain they were all my accounts, and give a reasonable explanation to why I'm paying for 7 accounts and have several more I'm not paying for. A long talk with CSR, then his manager, I got the accounts re-enstated.

So, don't buy more than one item from station store on the same day (or near days) to the same billing card. Like for example the RoK exspansion digital download for your 4 boxes on the same day on the same card...

Talking with the CSR manager, they've had a rush of fraudulent cards to create spammer accounts. And thats why they started this policy.

I know this could happen to others here, so wanted to give fair warning.

thanks i was getting ready to buy rok for all my accounts that would have been a bad day from me if i got banned i realy hate talking to any of the csr or their managers or the managers managers. they all in general realy piss me off

Is it just me?

Is it just me or is this a ridiculous way to deal with the problem? Would I need to explain to Walmart why I went to their store 4 times in the same day or would they appreciate the business?

That's absurd and if I do end up being asked to explain to a CSR why I pay for 7 accounts on the same day I'll probably end up explaining to them that it is none of their business and how my seven accounts and 120$ a month will soon be moving to Blizzard.

There are much more appropriate and simple business measures to take here. Thanks for the heads up on another ludicrous SOE action.
