How to create and use Auto Hunt nav paths

Trying to use this feature, but am unable to figure out how to create a nav path and get it in the drop down list. I tried using ogre map, but it seems to create zone files in a directory that Auto Hunt does not use. Any help would be appreciated.

ogre map does indeed put them into the correct directory for autohunt to use.

Autohunt ONLY displays named points (F2 when the mapper is running). The rest of the points are just navigational information. Run the mapper again, and name a few points, then on the auto hunt tab, hit refresh, then check the drop down box.

Ok, got a bit farther with that info. Created a very simple straight line path, named start and end points, then made a path start, end, start - auto hunt, loop selected. My guy runs back and forth between these two points, and stops to attack mobs along the way using the specified pull spell. However, he will only meelee attack - he casts none of his spells. So do I need to do something else to get him to use his CA tab?

Oh, and one other thing - the toon is a BL, and the whole time he is fighting, the message "You send your warder in for the attack!" scrolls across the chat window. But the warder is, in fact, attacking the whole time. The warder also is not gaining any affinity at all when the mobs die.

Check "Check Aggro"

If you pause the bot, does the same stop? It should only ever send the pet if your pet doesn't have the same target as you.

Your warder not gaining affinity is unrelated to ogrebot (I also don't know why).

Ok, farther still - check aggro does cause my spells to cast now.

Pausing the bot does stop the "attack" message. Perhaps the bot is changing targets constantly under the covers to scan for mobs?

One other odd thing that happens every so often - the BL targets his pet and gets stuck. If I manually retarget him to the mob, he continues on.

Might be caused by the BL casting heals on the pet from the Priority tab?

If it's a heal that requires a target, this is going to happen. If it's a pet-only heal, then it shouldn't happen (or it was never re-coded from the V15 changes).

One other thing about autohunt paths - I cant seem to make a path that causes my toon to run a continuous circuit. What it does is run the circuit in one direction, and when it gets to the end, it turns around and runs it in the opposite direction. Is there some way to "connect" the start and end points of the circuit such that when the toon gets to the end point it continues running in the same direction to the start point and beyond?

Sure. Make sure to read the info on the Nav / Mapper. You are simply teling it to navigate, the best way possible, from one point, to the next. So your map doesn't have your end point, with the best way to get to start point next.

You need to "connect" the end and start, and/or add more points that links them. To connect them, you simply need to have the mapper on, and run from 1 spot to the next. Keep in mind, if it's not the best way, it's not going to take it.

start
point2
point3
finish
start

in the list, and of course points actually mapped between finish->start, unless something's changed, i'm pretty sure that'll work.

Exactly what I am doing, and my finish point is pretty close to my start point - certainly closer than the distance between any of the other points. But, when it hits start (or maybe finish, cant be completely sure) it turns around and runs the path in the opposite direction.

I'm not sure how to tell you this in any other way... so I'll just quote myself...

By "Connect" he means that you need to be standing on Finish, and with the mapper loaded run over the point labeled Start. Otherwise, even if you are side by side they are not 'connected' by any other way then running the entire circuit back over again.

Ok, this is happening quite often. I have the following 2 lines in my Priority tab:

Frostwall|#=85|Target=Pet:MyPetName|Type=Heal
Marisha Kur's Protection|#=85|Target=Pet:MyPetName|Type=Heal

When I examine these two spells, the target is "Caster's Pet". So should my target really be "Me"?

No, that is correct.

I'll look into it at some stage, but I wouldn't expect it any time soon. My hatred for pets is still quite high.

Select "Auto Hunt" on that page, then hit "Start Movement".

Other than that, we can't help you with the information you provided.

This may help you, get more help.

This has me thinking :)

This saves to an xml file.
so i can go into a zone set up nav points. you can even relay between 2 midway into the cycle :)
is there a command for a Pause i can add into the xml file??? like in eqmacro you could put pause 454 <-in nanoseconds of course.

Also i was wondering if it was possible use the same method (make a Caststack with Named CA's)
and maybe create a run script combining movement senquence with forced ca abilities.

So run to point a Cast AOE blocker run into point B Then run to point C and everyone at that point Begins combat. Maybe even macro the start point on a button to restart from the begining when pressed.

This is all way over my head but it did give idea's on how to use the program sequences to great a run file

Don't don't necro posts that are years old. Start a new post, and if you wish to reference a post go ahead.

Currently no I don't have any files that can be processed like that. BJCasey (BJScripts) has some automation for zones if you wish to look into that. Otherwise what you're talking about would require programming knowledge.
