ISX since the last patch

I first would like to say I understand the update procedures and have been a user of ISX for quite some time, but I have run into a brick wall dealing with my friend's 2 pc's today. I'd like to ask, or beg whichever works for you, for some input. I run XP and had no probs with the 4/8 patch, but he runs Vista on 2 quad core Gateways and it has not worked since that day. I had him up and running before the patch, but he called me a couple days ago and said he had been patiently waiting for the update lol (comical reference to the message you get on patch days). Says blah blah the build of isxeq2 is designed for the 4/08/08 patch. I went to twonk and put the 20080408 eq2 file in like normal and it said the same thing. Tried 04/07 and 04/09. Even uninstalled and reinstalled Innerspace and ISX with a restart of the machine after the uninstall and one after the re-install. Checked for any duplicate versions of eq2.exe that might be in the directory and there were none. Re-installing Everquest 2 is a last resort if you guys/gals don't have any thoughts.

To sum up, my question is how in the world could it be asking for the 04/08 version of eq2 when I know it's running on the right version?

Thx in advance for your replies or flames lolz.

Man, I'm here searching for the same answer.. I have verified the date on the file, redid the whole thing, even copied the file to another PC (on which it worked, btw).. but on one machine that has only one installation of EQ and definitely has the right exe from twonk, I get that same message. I've tried everything. I've been programming for 20 years and have isxeq2 running fine on 2 PCs.. this third is killing me!
