Just A little confused

I run a 6 man team made up of Monk-Inq-Mystic-Illy-Troub-Brig. Now, when I run these toons solo, their output is decent in the 150k-300k range. However, its when they come together, their output drops where the team barely breaks 400k. What I am doing solo that I am not doing while in the group? I would think that grouping these toons and receiving each toons buffs would put me somewhere in the 800k range or higher. Any suggestions would be helpful.

I suggest 2 options.

1) ACT.
2) Visually watch them. What are they doing differently?

I'm going to assume you're fighting the exact same thing, IE: training dummies. Because if you're comparing solo vs heroic mobs, or solo vs raid mobs, that's a bad comparison.

I tested each toon individually on the dummies to tweak their cast orders. First, using the non-heoric and moved my way to heoric. Of course, I do realize that there are going to be major differences moving from the dummies to pve. I am just looking to get as much as possible out of the toons. My problem that I am running into is that on the dummies as a group my toons are doing amazing at around 800k. However, fighting in pve is where I am having the issue of subpar dps. Example, I go into WE today, where starting out I am cranking 800k-1.2M, so my thoughts were finally I am rocking. Then, about halfway through the zone my dps takes a nose dive and never recovers. I reset the zone and it goes back to the 800k zone, once again halfway through the zone just to go right back the subpar dps. I went back to the dummies for more testing. What do you know I am cranking the 800k+ dps again. I noticed several things. First, on the dummies, the toons can flat out dps without having to worry about making adjustments like casting cures/debuffs/heals which decreases the chances or times you can dps. Next, it takes time for the toons to move into position and depending on the fight itself this can limit the dps. Yes, i know this is all common knowledge. So, my real problem just seems to be a timing issue. That is to say getting my toons into position where they can actually start to damage the mob without their dps taking a nose dive. Anyway suggestions?

1) If this is trash DPS, I suggest you ignore it. Blowing through trash is always going to give highly variable DPS numbers, because the fights are shorter, debuffs have less time to take effect, long recycle abilities aren't being used or only used on some fights
2) WE is one of the harder heroic zones in this expansion. Your DPS numbers suggest you're sitting on the low end gear wise, so it's possible you're losing a chunk of DPS to healers working harder
3) Look at ACT

They've already hit the main point, you're likely fighting different types of mobs (adv solo vs heroic) and/or the fights just arent lasting long enough. However, I do want to point out:

Troub is more of a spell caster dps booster then melee dps booster, and all your other toons are melee.

Brig is nice for debuffing.. However, most other scouts would likely do better dps and you have it as your primary scout.

brigs probably spending the whole fight running around chasing backs too -- are you watching the fights at all?

nobody brought it up here though it was commented on in irc, are you getting decent fps on each client? shitty fps will ruin your botting experience.

also have to agree with battleaxe that troubs a bit out of place in that group. your monk and brig probably hate you, and i bet those 2 melee healers are probably wondering what you're thinking too.

if i touched on something you explained, my apologies. my eyes glaze over at posts with no linebreaks.

I have paid close attention to my fps. Having T1 satellite in my home insures near flawless access because each of my toons get about 60-70 fps and my gaming rig is built for multiple sessions of online gaming, video..ect..so no problems there either.

Yes, I have thought for quite sometime now that my Troub was out of place. So, I decided to give him an Illy to work in tandem along side him. I don't have hate issues with my monk, other than my Brig stealing the show from time to time but my Monkee always steal it back after a few moments. Usually, it's on the initial pull that I worry about because the Brig debuffs the crap out of everything.

I am considering switching to my Warlock to replace the Troub. I don't know, maybe even a Dirge.

You're correct. My Monk and Inq are raid geared. My other toons are completely Faction geared. However, I went to great pains to reforge their personal stats to such a point that using adorns are left for ab mod - reuse - casting- recovery- pot-cb-cc. For example, my scouts are tweaked with over 600 ma-300dps-300haste -100ae - 50 accuracy.

I'm going to side with them on gp setup i.e. Trub I would betray to Dirge with that gp setup imo your dps would raise and to the dps thing fight a mostly tank and spank name a few times and see if there is any difference in the dps not trash or a dummy same name like 5 times and don't reset your sessions see if it becomes a lag issue or that the toons just stop doing their jobs also make sure you wait like 5min before you fight it so as all spells are up and ready.

I don't know if it's been mentioned, but dont forget practicing on dummies in a guildhall you dont run into the zone effects that decrease your crit by 100%, so on training dummies you might have a lot higher crit, but in the newer zones its reduced

Training dummies also have 0 resist and 0 defense.

Thanks all. I will betray the troub later tonight. I always kinda thought the dirge was a better fit. I also think that a coercer will fit nicely as well, so i may say bye bye to the illy while I am at it.

Also best place to test is Sleepers Tomb (contested) late at night so no one on but you 99% tank and spank names.
