Lvl Cap and older zones

I am curious to get people's thoughts on what the lvl cap increase means for older content like SS / PoW? Does it open up any additional content that was undoable before with a single bot group?

SOE really messed up PoW with CoE.

They increased the level of the mobs by 3, along with the players. So you MUST be level 95 to do the same content in there as when you were 92. They wanted that level of gear to still be relavent in the game. But they left all the drops level 90, so none of the new adornments etc work on that gear.

Most of it is equal to the new raid zones x4 EM, with very minor differences.

I haven't been to SS, but most of that was 1 groupable by high enders already, so I suspect it would open that up to more people now.

Interesting. Did they announce that they were going to do that to PoW?

You have not been to SS? Do you actively play still or just not interested in SS?

Yes they announced they were doing that with PoW.

I clearly missed a word... I meant I haven't been to SS since the launch of CoE. My apologies :)

I am still very actively playing. I'd say I play nearly every day... as long as you count logging in and coding as playing :)

The new prestige and levels increased my 12-box team's DPS by about 50%. Where I was doing about 2.1mm or 2.2mm or thereabouts on Betrayal of the Underdepths burns (Tel'koran, Theldek, etc.) before the expansion, I'm now doing around 3.1mm or 3.2mm or thereabouts. The only difference has been the levels and prestige. I don't have a lot of gear upgrades yet. (I have successfully 12-manned Altar of Abhorrence, the first three in Sleepers: Unearthed, and the first three in Harrow's X4, currently working on downing Bastion.)

With the increased DPS (especially for my assassin, my coercer, and my necro) I could easily 6-box the SS X4s if I wanted, I think, without it taking all day.

I cleared Betrayal in about an hour the other day, a record fast time for me.

Note: I skip Sevalor Gorescale. It's not worth the time/effort for me, and never has been. Especially now that +189 forearms drop off Construct of Souls in Harrow's X4, which is a very easy fight.

Out of curiosity, how do you get around the requirement for two tanks on some raid fights (like Crimsonmaw)? Do you add a second tank to your 6 box group? Is the rest of the equipment out of Betrayal worth the hassle? Trying to figure out risk vs reward. The CoE raid gear is a little better, if I am correct?

I have a Guardian MT in group 1 and an SK OT in group 2. Can't do raid zones with one tank, in my experience.

Betrayal and Sevalak Awakened are stepping stones to CoE raid content. If your raid members have heroic or other crap gear, then you can run the SS X4s to get their gear better. From there, you can run Altar of Abhorrence X4, then Harrow's End X4, then the hard one, Sleeper's Unearthed X4. The trash in Sleeper's X4 drops +179 BPs and feet, fyi (I suspect this will be patched this week, so that the trash drop all 7 different armor pieces, not just BPs and feet). The bosses in all three CoE raid zones, however, drop +187 pieces, including red slot waists, cloaks, and charms. The war runes you can put there are incredibly important to long-term DPS.

Were should I farm red adorns? Kael raid zones? TOFS? Or will they just drop as I clear out SSx4 zones?
If you're referring to War Runes, you have two choices:

- older (but still excellent) war runes are found in old Kael zones and Kraytoc's. These are easy to run in easy mode.

With the new gear dropping red-slot cloaks, charms, and waists, a box group is significantly improved by having characters in the group with Winds of the Tundra (15% damage bonus to everything, group-wide), Dain's Legacy (12% potency, group-wide), and Unleashed (650 AbMod, group-wide). While these buffs don't stack -- if you have two characters with Winds of the Tundra, the bonuses dont stack -- they are useful to have multiples of, because every proc resets the timer. So if Winds of the Tundra lasts 10 seconds, and another proc goes off, the 10 second timer resets and you have that much longer under the beneficial proc.

- newer and better runes are found off weapons, charms, waists, and belts which drop in CoE. In some cases they are upgrades to the Kael war runes, and in some cases, they're unique. Note that upgraded versions of Kael runes do NOT stack with kael runes.

If you're referring to regular red adorns, you also have two choices:

- older (but still excellent) red runes are found of Momo, a gnoll NPC next to the bell at Great Divide docks. Purchase requires faction with various Velious tribes.

- newer red runes are much different. They drop off any raid item in CoE, and are completely random. You have to use a Deconstructor (a tinkered item) to take a red rune off an item (and the process of deconstructing makes the item no-value appearance-only).

[Understanding deconstruction is important for the new green adorns, which level as you go. When you have a green adorn on a neckpiece, and it's nicely levelled, and you get a neck upgrade, you use a decontructor to pop off the runes -- including the green one -- and take the levelled green adorn with you.]

Can the old DoV raid zones be done with a group of six or does one need two or more groups? Group is progressing slowly but surely and now need to get some more adornments but only have one group as of now. Thanks again for any help with this information.

All of EM Kraytocs, all of Drunder X2 and Temple minus the final named can be done in heroic SS vendor gear with a single group. It's possible Statue is doable with a single group, but the encounter requires some scripting and I couldn't be bothered. I'm sure Kannkor can chime in and confirm whether or not Ogre's scripting for the encounter will kick in or not with a single group. All other encounters can either just be DPS'd down or have an easy to joust red text.

This thread would blow the mind of any eq2'er that never heard of the isx.
No kidding, right? 1 grouping the trash in Sev x4 for 1-6 peices of raid loot is nuts. Shoot, their easier than most instances which are significantly less rewarding.

I always wonder when/if the general populace will discover these secrets. But I also wonder who are 'not allowed' to do them because their raid wants to do the zone later.

Statue didn't really require any extra scripting, it's just moving people around. Since his movement is sooooooooooooooo buggy, we just did this with follows (In this case, OgreFollow). I had written something that would move based on where he was, but when he went on one of his retarded run past you 100 miles, people just kept running, so it was easier to just move them manually, since it's only on a red text and when changing fountains.

The real 'hardcore' - have their raid toon, then their 'raid force' separated. So they can dump gear to alts, then raid with those alts.

Unless they have changed around the loot table on the Sev trash it quickly becomes worthless. The trash seems to drops the same slot items (boots / belts / 2 handed weapons) and even equipping alts in it you can only take so much of that..

Is "sev x4" the Dracur Prime zone?

If it is , well it still drops armor pieces; I just got vambracers and boots from there; they are nice. They are +172 with red slots. ))) yeah now I just need to run back through Kael get some red adorns !!

Your talking Temple with Rallos Zek?? Is the HM doable with 2 groups now? I want my BST epic !!!

Now with 1 person playing those 2 groups, no. Unless you take the time to write some pretty serious amount of code.

The fight itself isn't hard, there are just a bunch of moving parts that are very difficult to script because of how buggy his movement is. At this stage, gear doesn't really help too much, because gear doesn't overcome the fail conditions.

I suspect three humans could do statue HM with 12 toons total. However, I'm most certainly not willing to put forth the time to prove that claim. Three humans can do it with 24 toons however.

Problem with Statue is it was never a DPS check, you actually finished the fight in a couple minutes, it was just surviving the fail conditions.

Would be extremely to script and accomplish, the advantage of a 24 bot raid, is that you you can kill it so quickly and not deal with as much,
and you have backup toons to recover from fails (Tank / Curse / Adds / Debuffs)
