Need a lot of help

Ok I have read thru everything on using orgebot - I just dont get it - I am totally new to this but have been boxing with ISboxer/innerspace for a while now.

For instance I go to Ogre ogremcp - I click follow enter the person in my group who i want to follow then I put my tank to follow - hit ok and nothing my group member doesnt follow.

Is there like a real dummies guide for this? I read the noob post and that is just a forgeign language to me. Can someone help me figure out his program and what it can do?

Thanks for any help you can provide - I am even not understanding isxeq2 - these seem to really enhance boxing and I want to learn but other than the info hear I have not been able to find anything else. I mean, to get it to work do I need to control everything thru the console? Or once it is set up, will I be able to play the game as usual playing my tank with my other group members just doing their thing based on whatever I tell isxeq2 and ogrebot to do?

I am 6 boxing on 1 PC - no lag issues, etc. I am thinking maybe i have isxeq2 and ogre up wrong. I followed the instructions for both. Am I suppose to load the console on each toon? Load individual commands for each group member? Or am I suppose to be able to do everything thru the character I am actually playing?

Oh boy, I am a mess, please help =(

From scratch, I guess you've done some steps already as you have the MCP up and stuff, but just to make sure:

Install Ogre
Set up eq2chars.inc
Start EQ2 through ISBoxer as you usually do (handy for keyrepeater and the window setup if nothing else).
Open the console.
type: 'relay all ogre', press enter - this loads ogre in all clients of yours.
First time only, once ogre has loaded: in the console, give the command 'relay all ogre spell'. This will import all your spells for your toons.
Wait for the import to be done, this is a good time to put on some coffee.
Do a new 'relay all ogre' - this will reload the bot with the fresh spell list.
Press the "Show Main" button.
Start the tweaking of your profiles in each client. Start with editing all aliases, then look up your CA tab to make sure all spells you wish to use are there. From there on, it should all work fairly well, then it's up to you to experiment with stuff to fit your playstyle etc. Trial and error, best way to go really. So go grab that coffee you started earlier. :)

Alright, here goes:

1. EQ2char.inc - I set this up - started the game through Innerspace (I entered all info - including passwords) - When the game starts up - the passwords are not showing up - it doesn't even seem to pick up the file at all.

2. I typed 'relay all ogre' (no quotes) - in the console of my tank - then tried with console opened on other toons, and closed on all toons but tank - orge is not loaded anywhere but my tank (the maroon control windows pop up for tank only - i.e Berzerker Manager).

3. Just a question about how Ogrebot works: When I tweak profiles, and cast orders - does this make the toons do all the stuff automatically? Or will i still have to set up hotbars like with Innserspace only - with repeater regions on the hotbars? (Never used this type of software)

- I am thinking maybe I did something wrong with the set-up - as in installation - I am going to start from scratch with the install - even of isboxer/innerspace - then reinstall ISXEQ2 and ISXOgre - just to make sure I did not miss anything - because I had ISBoxer/Innerspace installed way before deciding to try this software and already had IXSEQ2 and ISXOgre installed - so I stared with the EQ2char.inc in your instructions. I will post if once I reinstall everything if the instructions work and if I run into any other issues. However, if you have any ideas as to what I posted above, it would be appreciated. Thanks for all the help :)

Ok, I set up the EQ2Char.inc, loaded all my toons, grouped them together. Loaded ogre, cuz i thought it may have been the issue with getting the EQ2Char.inc to work. Close down the EQ2 sessions and started up again, but it is not picking up the doc because i did input passwords, but the password field is still blank.

- Is there a way, if I can get the password field to work correctly, to automatically log in instead of me hitting the login key for all the sessions?

- Is there a way to open up the console automatically on toons and create a macro or something that will put 'ext isxogre' and load orge on all profile in the console?

Some side questions:
1. Is there anywhere I should be looking or overlooked where I could find that kind of start up info? If so and you could point me to it, I am glad to read and figure out everything ;)

2) Is there somewhere that lists the command you told me to input? I didn't see those in the commands page - maybe I am at the wrong command page - OgreBotCommands?

I am at the main page of the Wiki for Ogre Bot - so I am going to go thru the sections on that page while I am setting up the toons. Not sure if it mentions anything about this - but this is a noobier than normal question. With ISXEQ2 and ISXOgre, when I put my toons on follow - do these programs automate my followers and I just play my tank? Like will they do what I tell them to do automatically when i engage in a fight, based on what I put in the managers for each toon. I ask cuz in the OgreMCP, I clicked the follow button for one of the toons to follow my tank, and answered the questions that popped up, but the toon didn't follow my tank, just stood there. So I tried clicking the Follow++ and follow-- but that didnt do anything either. Is there something I need to do to those buttons on each character?

Again, thank you, thank you, thank you for the help and being patient with my total lack of knowledge. :)

If I happen to asnwer my own questions before anyones sees this or replies I will update this post. Off to playing now...

An add-on to the above post -

I was reading the OGREBOTMCP tricks/mods/addons - for instance, the first one in the list is Possess essence. The file it says to change is OgreMCPXML.xml - in my folder I have OgreMCEditPXML.xml - is this the file I should change - the edit one?

Where it says, PossessEssence.isi - that is a file I need to make for that to work? And finally, by entering what I wrote above - does that give me this option to add a button for that on Orge MCP.

I guess I just don't understand what the program does with the game - and if there are buttone clicks on the other toons, like repeater regions in InnerSpace - because that is what I have always used.

Again, Thank you for the help

I beleive that MCP trick pony post also says that it is obsolete. Currently we can't add Possess Essence to MCP using that post info.

Ogre will cast spells (Priority, CA's, other) based on what is in that toons Ogre "console". You do not need to use a repeater. You could have all toons running Ogre and you don't have to press any buttons (maybe moving to the next mob).

I am even not understanding isxeq2
InnerSpace = Program to load games into regions of memory that can be goverened (CPU and FPS based on foreground or background)
ISXEQ2 = Program for EQ2 that requires InnerSpace. This program by itself does nothig. It only gives programers code to write to
OGRE / EQ2BOT / RADAR / CRAFT = Programs written for ISXEQ2 that "do something"

You don't really need to know anything about ISXEQ2 unless you want to make your own programs or scriplets.

See wiki for ISXEQ2 for more info http://eq2.isxgames.com/wiki/index.php?title=ISXEQ2
See wiki for OGRE for more info http://eq2.ogregaming.com/wiki/index.php?title=WhyOgre

Info on differences between EQ2BOT and Ogre http://www.isxgames.com/forums/show...t-offer-that-eq2bot-doesn-t?p=27023#post27023

Some info from other people about what I just said ... should have searched myself before typing all that crap ...

You can use Ogre bot without ISBoxer, there is no link between these. Thus there is no link between loging your guys in with ISBoxer and the EQ2char file.
As far as I know, ISBoxer doesn't store the passwords so you have to type them manually whatever.
If you want Ogre to log your toons you have to use the autologin script (it uses the info in the EQ2char file).
This is not a new user friendly thing so you might wanna wait being more familiar with Ogre to use it.
More information in the revision history here: http://eq2.ogregaming.com/wiki/index.php?title=RevisionHistory:Version14Patch40-49
search for "AutoLogin"
There was also a post on the forum here: http://www.isxgames.com/forums/showthread.php/5278-auto-login-for-DUMMIES!-Main-amp-Alt-Grp/page2

Regarding the hotbars, no need to put anything here. Ogre fires the spells "directly" so don't worry about that.

Ogre bot is exceptionally powerful but it requires a learning period. I remember when I started I was totally lost. It takes a bit of time to get things up and running.
Take your time, read the wiki and re-read it.
Last but not least, if you need help, I'd say come to IRC (server information on Ogre wiki). It will be easier than forum posts for step by step debugging.

Ok, so I have been playing - I get what it does - and once it clicked, it was like, jaw drop, lol.
I guess I will play for a bit with my group with the default profiles and tweak as I feel more comfortable, like the cast orders and such.

Only thing that is still not working for me is the EQ2Chars.inc - when the game loads up, it is not putting the name and password in the fields.

I need to read up on the follow - once I get the group to follow me - if I hit Follow++ like 3x the group stops following me completely. Normally I wouldn't care - but the Agnes fight in Fortress spire - everyone is still falling on the epics =/ I saw the walk through on the forums, but my group is dumb, and insists on playing with epic =/

Thank you soooooo much for all the help from everyone - this is going to make the game soooo much more fun hehe

That's not how things work.

At this stage, I wouldn't be too concerned with MCP, MCP addons, or anything else. If you've had a lot of issues this far, take at least a few days just using the bot as is to get used to it.

EQ2Chars.inc gives SCRIPTS the ability to log in your characters. It doesn't happen automatically. Give yourself a few days to get comfortable, then look at OgreAutoLogin on the wiki if you wish to have that functionality.

Fully agree with Kannkor and Poulet here, stay out of OgreAutoLogin until you have the rest sorted. I personally prefer running with the login function provided with ProfitUI, but I'm running a lot of different setups and neither have I had the patience to look into it any further to be honest. :D

As for the follow parts, do you have "Move into melee range" and "Move behind/in front of mob" active? Those will make your toons to run away on their own once you are in combat, so that might be a problem in there for you. If it's just that they don't follow you as they should out-of-combat, it's just a matter of getting used to having a bunch of noobs on follow. Personally, I only use OFollow when I have toons in different groups. Rest of the time, I stick with the regular follow (Auto Follow Mode active, Autofollow set to the tank). If there is precision movement to be done, I click NoMove then use the Come2Me command to get the rest to move in a straight line to me.

You can use Ogre bot without ISBoxer, there is no link between these.
Indeed you can, but as he was already a user of ISBoxer, it's a handy way to get things rolling. :)

Did you first set a follow distance using the Ofollow command? There are 2 kinds of following. The regular EQ2 follow which is the default and then the Ofollow which is Ogre. If you want everyone to follow you no matter what then use ofollow all, me, 5 (as an example) which tells eveyone to follow at a distance of 5 from your toon. Then using the ofollow++ increases that distance and -- decreses it. They will be pretty much slaves to that distance. So if you want to undo it and go back to the eq2 follow, then you need to reload the toon (unless someone know how to do it without hitting the reload button).

Now if you use ofollow and all your toons seem to stop following at all then you want to insure you have your Innerspace set to Lock Foreground. If it works when you are on that toon and stops when you are not, then you likely haven't set lock foreground.

If you use OFol-Dft, everyone follows at a default distance. OFol-- shortens that distance, and after three clicks everyone will try and stand pretty much on top of whoever they're following. A fourth OFol-- turns off the following, which might have originally been a bug, but I'm so used to using it to turn off follow that it's become a feature.

For Agnes, I just make sure all of the move behind / move into melee range options are off, use OFol-Dft and three OFol--, and everyone stays nicely stacked up. Whenever she starts porting, I also run to one of the corners instead of staying in the middle where she was, just to cut down on having to loop around since lag can still drop someone in the hole.

So I have been playing for a few days now, a few times changing things I ran into fight and just faceplant, other times, more often than not, I kick ass...

Umm... Kannkor, I think you are my new hero!!! All I can say is WOW, and I don't mean World of Warcraft!!! This has just taken my game to a whole new level.

Thank you everyone for the tips, you have no idea after reading your posts, then going back and reading about the feature in the wiki, how much more I understood. I still have a lot of playing to do, because I am doing a lot of trial and error with the settings and shutting things off and on, but this just made the game fun for me again.

Orwak, seriously, you were like a savior with your instructions on how to get things started... I think Orwak's instructions to start from scratch, should totally be stickied, for total noobs like me, who need the For Dummies Guide to getting things started. ;)

Amazing...
