New install of vista .net 2.0 issues.

I have happily been using the script for a few months and think that you guys are amazing, but have run into a small hiccup. I have wiped the laptop that I normally leave ratting for a few hours a day. I reinstalled vista, eve, innerspace and evebot. All appeared to go well until I tried to launch eve using innerspace. The console is stating that:

.Net initialization error (code 3 - 80131522)
ISXEVE *REQUIRES* .NET 2.0.  Please download and install the .NET
2.0 framwork before using this extension.

Here is the problem, I try to install the .NET 2.0 framework and I get a dialogue box stating the following show up:

This product is alread installed as part of the operating system.

Any suggestions?

The system I am running it on is an IBM T60 running Windows Vista Ultimate 32bit, this is a fresh install not a restore from IBM restore disks.

install .NET 3.5, make sure you have the DirectX 9 updates installed, etc.
