Here is an idea for a useful script.
I don't have the skills to write one, but I would love to see a script to automate the exploration/probing process. I imagine a similar script could be used for combat probes too, however I only do the exploration probing.
It should load up, check to make sure you have a probe launcher and the number of probes you can use. then deploy the probes at max scan range, 1 per planet or spread out as much as possible depending on skills/#of probes. I think anyone that does probing can use at least 4 probes and that is all that is really needed.
It should narrow down the result, reposition the probes, scan again, until it gets a warpable result.
It should consider the possibility of multiple hits in the same system and possibly have a switch to scan for certain types, wormholes, grav belts, ladar, radar, etc.
It should provide an option to warp to the result and bookmark it, then warp to a safespot (which it could create at the beginning of the script)
Well, if anyone has the skills and desire to tackle this request please do so and post the script in the script releases section of the forum.
I believe this would be a valuable script to have if anyone can make it, you have my thanks in advance!
