Ogre Craft And Experimenting

Having a weird issue that may be related to character options in game, but that I can't determine. Here is what is happening.

I open Ogre Craft, pick an item, and start experimenting on it (i.e., increase it's potency). On one of my toons, as soon as I start the experimentation, the toon immediately starts using the counter abilities and progresses to completion fine. But on other toons, the program only kicks in after I manually do the first counter myself. After I do the first, then it starts spamming/countering on its own until completion.

I have some toons where it works as intended, and others where it does not. It does not seem to be related to their tradeskill class, the forge I use, the item being experimented on, or anything else I've been able to identify. Wondering if others have seen this, or if anyone knows of some setting I could have on the toon's options that could be causing this.

99% sure it's your UI.
Some custom UIs make the abilities appear to be unavailable, but as soon as you click one they all magically show as available.
I've never seen this happen with default UI.

Have had this happen to one of my toons on and off, and yea once I click the first reaction they suddenly become available and ogre takes over flawlessly. Pretty sure it is a UI thing yea. I've had it happen in both Drums and Darq.

I've just made it a point to watch the screen when I start experimenting :)

I use Profit. So maybe. But I'm using the same UI on different toons and getting different results, so did not think that was it.
