I did spend sometime trying to figure this out on my own, but failed miserably.

Autopatcher - where do I find out if my autopatcher is set to "True"?

From the Console:
command to see which Ogre Version I'm running?
command to update to the latest Version of Ogre?

The autopatcher is on by default, and the command to turn it off, well is not documented anywhere, and I don't plan to share it with anyone, because people will get this great idea to do it, then when something isn't working, I get to spend time fixing it because they added something and forgot about it.

To find your current version: Type this in the console:
echo ${ISXOgre.Version}
If you want to see what the latest version is, check this page: http://eq2.ogregaming.com/wiki/index.php?title=RevisionHistory

Every single time you load Ogre for the first time per session - it will patch automatically.

If you need to patch a session, and you don't want to close it down, you can do so via:
ISXOgreatch

fyi- I read that page prior to my post. I tried patch in every way I thought possible except ogreatch....lol
