It appears today's update wasn't an outright forced patch, but when you get in game many things won't work with the old client. (you can't join groups, your pet window is broken, etc.)

SOE will probably make it a forced patch tomorrow. There are people posting on the official forums about how things aren't working for them (because they haven't updated, but they don't realize that's why apparently).

Kind of funny though seeing the guy that I've seen with 5 guys running behind him, log on this morning and complain about problems in public chat this morning. Then immediately log back off and never log back on.

Yeah same for pets... apparently tis broken... you would think they would actually just force the patch if what they did was going to break the game ;-)

Ok, some updates on this situation from my own testing:

Deleted the UI and re-installed those files using the patcher.
Started the game and all of the functions worked as intended.
Replaced the Everquest2 application with the March 9, 2010 file and it broke the group window and some ISXEQ2 functions.
Re-patched with SOE's version of Everquest2 application makes the group window re-appear and all functionality back to normal.

So, it appears some functions of ISXEQ2 won't work until we get an updated Everquest2 application that works with their servers.

So I assume we go ahead and patch and wait for Ama to create a new version of isxeq2 for the "non-forced" patch?
