The VGPlayers problem

Those of us who are botting have some things to worry about. Whether you're grinding craft work orders or using a hunting bot, your abnormal progess shows up on VGPlayers. Sure, you can make yourself anonymous and remove access to all your stats, but it's still possible for self-righteous bot hunters to investigate players and such by using the system.

So, my question is this: How do we avoid this? Is there any way to completely remove your character from VGPlayers? It would be okay if it stayed in the global rankings, but the individual character page (which shows name and levels) has to go.

Don't bot afk. Then you won't be botting 24 hours a day. Then you won't show up as extraordinarily abnormal.

Or accept the risk.

Get a level a day or 2 at most. If you do something abnormal your going to get caught reguardless of vgplayers.

Well, I'm not worried about becoming top-rank and coming under intense scrutiny (the top crafter on my server has a head start on the botting, I checked him out lol). I don't bot any longer than a dedicated player would play, and it's caused my own rankings to go up substantially. Anyway, I've been checking in on my bot fairly often, so hopefully I won't be caught off-guard.

What was it Lax or someone else said back on the MQ2 boards?

Something like, if you're worried about getting caught cheating, don't do it.

You're taking a risk, and you've only yourself to blame if you're caught.

Enjoy!
