Unofficial Forced Patch?

Is it just me or is everyone getting the message to rerun the patcher? I know the made some adjustments to the tradeskills today, at least according to their patch notes. Just want to ensure whether it is on my end or not.

so what is the difference between an official forced patch, and an unofficial forced patch?

obviously, Official forced patches are known about and approved by Amadeus beforehand. Unofficial forced patches catch everyone by surprise.

And yet it is based on truth. Official means a LU patch where many changes are made, Sony advertises the changes for weeks ahead of time usually, puts an early version of the changes up on test server so people (like Amadeus) can play around with it, and usually announces the date quite awhile before the day they put them on live servers.

Unofficial is usually after a LU horribly breaks something and comes within a few days after a LU with them trying to fix some horrible bug affecting server stability or a huge exploit. This they don't announce ahead of time, we have no idea what is changed in them, and they don't announce them ahead of time.

it is a forced patch either way. I dont think this is one of those things you can put an official/unofficial tag on. Rvery patch is on test before it goes live so you can't really use that in your definition...
