vgcraft bugs/improvements/etc

I didn't want to make a new thread, but considering all the threads we are redirected to are locked, I guess this stuff has to go somewhere. And a mod is more than welcome to move this to the appropriate thread if applicable.

Latest vgcraft doesn't seem to support T4 crafting yet. I don't think it recognizes the "new stage" that was added as of yet. It tries to treat this "new stage" as the final stage, and thus hangs on every combine.

If it helps, the scenarios I've seen so far are:
1 - 23 - 45 - 6 - 7
1 - 234 - 5 - 6 - 7
1 - 23 - 4 - 5 - 67

Where 1, 7 are the initial and final steps, respectively.

If you take the time to read the "Forum Rules and Procedures" in the this and the release forum, you'd find that this is exactly where you're supposed to post discussion on released scripts. I'm not sure why people have a hard time understanding that.

In regards to your question, the script authors do not have tier 4 crafters as yet, so of course it is not going to support the extra stages/steps. However, since you're so far ahead with levels it looks like you have time to learn lavishscript and add the functionality yourself.

I read the forum rules.

The Script Releases forum here at isxGames is designed exclusively as a location for script authors to post their finished products, updates, and patch notes. Threads should only contain postings by the script author unless the author has specifically requested information.
This post from what I can tell falls under the forum guidelines for:

So, I don't see what the problem is. From what I can tell this post isn't in script releases. Either I'm posting in the right place, or your guidelines aren't clear.

Regardless, all the vgcraft related threads are locked for whatever reason.

From what I can tell, there is no open vgcraft topic open in the Scripts forum (not the Script Releases form). So, I made one.

The fact that one particular thread is locked has nothing to do with the policies that are outlined. It states that all discussion/questions/etc.. go here, and therefore you were right to post here. My response was simply to illustrate why you were correct and to wonder why you were questioning in the first place.


That being said, I'm closing this thread simply because vgcraft is no longer supported by the author in its current form. Xeon will be releasing a new version at some point. However, if you're using vgcraft NOW, you should be aquiring it as part of the vgworkorder script. (That's why the discussion thread was locked in the first place.) I'll do some pruning so it's more obvious.


Hopefully, at some point someone will develop, maintain, and release a "pure" crafting script. However, at this point both of the current crafting authors (Hendrix and Xeon) are interested in releasing scripts that do more than just craft.

...So, if you're using Xeon's old script ...you're on your own for now.
