bots switching targets

Hi guys. I'm having a weird experience that has not happened before and I don't know if this is a known issue or something specific to this encounter. I was doing Mistmoore Manyr for the first time today. Made it to the final mobs (the twins) and continually die once the porting begins. I finally figured out why... as soon as the first named we were killing ports to the other side of the room, I chase after him, taunt him back off and resume killing but all my bots just stand there stupid. Well the reason seems to be because they have the other named targeted and won't even heal my tank until I manually switch back to the named we were originally dps'ing. I have both my templar and my warden set to keep single and group heals up but they won't because the other named is still at 100% and for whatever odd reason they are switching targets from the named we were killing to the other (undamaged) named. Does anyone have any idea why they are switching targets (I am not switching targets at any point and I have the first named targeted the whole time so it's not that they are assisting me)? Thanks.

This is decussed in the thread on the new SF zones.

You might want to create a hotkey on your eq2botcommander ui to have all toons retarget. Also make sure you have follow in combat enabled.

EQ2Commander with retarget works. But, you can simply ask all toons to melee (even healers), set all range sliders to max, make sure you are allowing in-combat movement, and they should follow you into the other room eventually. If you have a templar, throwing sanctuary up can be helpful.

Thanks

Thanks guys. I did manage to win the fight last night on like the 15th try... =p I played around with different settings once I realized they were switching targets and I think the key was changing the max range to the assist as larry mentioned. I haven't been to the SoF zones yet so I hadn't read through them thoroughly (even though I did do a search for bots switching targets) so I will take a look at those. Thanks again.

I am just getting my bot team into SF instances and am having issues with my bots staying on the last named in the library, I kill him but I have to check and uncheck "ignore named" in order to get them to attack the books, is there a better way? From reading through the forums it sounds like I need to use the retarget option with eqcommander but I don't have that figured out yet.

This is the best solution.

You need the ranges high enough to see the tank's new target to switch. Also adjusting the movement thresholds up will get them to follow you over there to min cast distance without using autofollow (and having them not facing the mob to auto attack or standing too close).

Why are you attacking the books? If you solve the puzzle correctly, you just burn down the named and ignore the books.

not to interfere with the thread subject but if you've never killed the 3 named books, they do give aa so you might want to do it once. and if your group dps is horrid you might not have a choice.
