Crash after trying to open isxeq2

Hi all, I've been trying to get isxeq2 to work for an hour or two now and am not having any luck. I've tried reading everything I can, and going on the irc chat (idle bastards :p) Anyway, I get crashed as soon as i put in "ext isxeq2." I have the correct everquest2.exe and everything so I'm really not sure what could be wrong. Anyone have any suggestions?

If it's crashing as soon as you try to load it, you're probably using the wrong EverQuest2.exe -- whether you think you're right or not.

You can try to download the latest file from isxeq2.twonk.net (it's the first link on that page) and place it in your EverQuest2 home directory.

Then, when you run EQ2 ..then make sure that it DOESNT patch anything (ie, click on the 'no patch' method..or add a method to it that runs EverQuest2.exe instead of eq2.exe).

If you honestly think you've done all that, then you can try following the instructions in this thread: http://www.isxgames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1

..but, since NO one else is reporting a crash similar to yours, I feel pretty confident in that you're probably using the wrong version of EverQuest2.exe.

:/ Yeah I keep downloading that exe from that link and doing the no patch and I'm still getting the crash. I'll try the instructions in the other thread and report back.

This is exactly the same crash as reported on the thread http://www.isxgames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=151 ...he followed the instructions I gave you earlier and fixed the issue.

You're using the wrong version of EverQuest2.exe. You have to download the right version (as it states in that other thread) and then be sure you don't patch it when the game loads.

Ok, here's what I've been doing. I've gone to http://isxeq2.twonk.net/ downloaded the "current supported" everquest2.exe file. Extracted it, pasted into my everquest folder (replacing the current). Then I right click innerspace in the system tray and open up everquest 2 using the no patch option. I've tried this tons of times, I even tried repatching the everquest with the new exe and then replacing it with the downloaded one, and nothing seems to work. I'm not an idiot I swear I really don't know why it's not working lol.

Edit: I'm using the innerspace version from this site and not from lavishsoft.com could that be why it isn't working?

That's possible ...try uninstalling InnerSpace (keep a back up of your scripts and so forth if you have any) ....then download and reinstall innerspace (in a different location..just to make sure). Then uninstall isxeq2.

Then, redownload the latest isxeq2 from this site again, and reinstall that.

Then try what you've been trying.

Will do... my brother just installed it all and ran it on his comp to try and it worked fine so I'm gonna uninstall everything and start over.

Edit: Turns out I am an idiot, rofl. I had 2 eq2 installs, one in C:/program files/everquest ii and one in c:/Program files/sony/everquest ii...... Lol... anyway I was replacing the exe in a different folder than innerspace was looking for.

Something you may want to check. You need the everquest2.exe from the 9th NOT the 11th. The one from the 11th will cause EQ2 to crash the moment you put in the ext isxeq2

Always make sure you have the right exe with the right version. The current exe is not always the right one in this case. There was a patch on the 11th but not a forced so I dunno how it made it to the exe logs but the moment I got rid of it and used the 9th all worked fine.

(I think when you examin the exe file info it says august 8th but is on the list as the 9th. Hope this helps)
