ok i have beed running isxeq2 and isxogre for months and works great last night was on and was working very well. i log on today and ran isxeq2 and it will not load the ISXEQ2.dll. I look in the /innerspace/Extensions its not there i download it and rerun it patchs updates unloads the isxeq2 and stops. i look in the to /innerspace/Extensions and isxeq2 not there again.

this is the pop up window in eq2

When I log into eq2 and ~ I type ext isxeq2 enter. It checks for update. Updates extenstions/isxeq2.dll from ver 20110512.0074 to 20111018.12.
Updates isxeq2changes.txt from 20110512.0074 to 20110825.0035
unloads extension.
And trys to reload extension
Extension Isxeq2 unloaded
Extension isxeq2 could not be loaded
Isxgamepatcher finished
Extension isxeq2 could not be loaded

Now at this point i try to run ext isxeq2 it crashes me to desktop and i go to /innerspace/Extensions and isxeq2.dll not there again.

anyone know what the hell is going on?????

I have also redownload innerspace and isxeq2 to see if it might be a messed up file and still the same thing after fresh install.

Your anti virus software is (falsely) reporting that isxeq2.dll isn't safe for your computer, and is deleting/removing it.

Your options:
Get real antivirus software.
Add isxeq2.dll to a safe list (Not even sure if this is possible with all AV software)
Don't use AVS (not recommended).
Yea.. that's pretty much it.

run mcafee's

I run mcafee's and its not that i have scanned the isxeq2.dll file and its fine does not see it as a problem its more like i hit ~ and then ext isxeq2 and it starts to patch and then trys to reload and no go.

No its not my Av deleting i am sure its on update from server once updated its deleted where can i get a copy of the newest isxeq2.dll????

Ok it was my AV software finding a trojan in the new download i have seen the other post and hear it will be fixed in the next update ty all.
and mcafee's found it

I just had the same thing happen on my computers .... I run Mcafee. I don't see a solution other than turning off real-time scanning (which is not good). When you say you saw "other post" and it is going to "fixed in the next update", what post are you referencing, and what software is going to get updated (isxeq2 or mcafee)?

does that av not have an option to exempt specific directories from realtime scanning? turning off realtime scanning in general seems like an awful shotgun approach.

You can exclude files and directories from the scheduled scans, but not from the real-time scans. I just spent 30 minutes with Mcafee going over options, and there really are not any good ones. I can turn real-time scanning off .. that's about it. I can submit ISXEQ2.dll to the AVERT labs and try to get them to agree that they are falsely detecting the trojan ID being shown, and therefore get them to exclude that file in their detection lists. However, that seems a bit risky -- I don't know if that might bring unwanted attention to this program. It might be easy for someone to just say "get different virus protection software", but I have Mcafee on 6 different home computers and just renewed the master license, so that it not appealing to me. There must be some characteristic of the file that is starting to get it flagged; would be nice if there was a way around that from an ISXEQ2 standpoint.

I am having the same issue here and I also run McAfee. The only way I could avoid it was by turning off the real time scanning. I tried everything. To top it off, I forgot to disable full time scanning and when I returned to the computer, every instance of the ISXEQ2.DLL file were wiped out.

Something has changed recently that has triggered this, because as of Thursday this wasnt happening. Did the recent patches force ISX changes that might give McAfee the impression there is a problem? McAfee claims this is not their issue.

I hate changing AV vendors, as like LD I have recently paid up and I have had good luck with their tools.

and by the way... this is in no means pointing the finger at these tools, I am just trying to get working again as I will go thru with drawal soon heh...
I hope someone figures something out and by the way... you guys do a great job keeping things up to date. I for one appreciate it!!!

Thanks very much Ama.

If you are using Mcafee, it really has not deleted the isxeq2.dll file .. it has placed it into quarantine. You can go into quarantine, and restore the file. Then, as long as you have your real-time file scan turned off, you should not have a problem until your next regularly scheduled scan. When that happens, you will have to repeat taking the file out of quarentine until the av vendors respond to Ama's submission and take it out of their thumbprints for the trojan.

YES... Thanks for doing that. Hopefully they will listen and provide updates soon. I will keep an eye out.

LD... I must of setup my McAfee to delete and not quarantine, because I can't find the files. Not a huge deal because after I DL'd a new DLL I copied everything to a thumb drive for safe keepings.

Thanks for the posts guys... Good hunting.

It appears the updates were made. Back in business and able to use av with no conflicts! Thanks for the quick response Ama.
