All testing was done by wiping to a group of trash mobs after Ikiatar.
These initial tests utilize only 1 computer running 6 toons. Three toons are in group 1 and three toons in group 2.
Test 1: Wiped everyone but kept dirge FD. Group rezzed both groups separately with dirge: No crashes.
Test 2: Wiped everyone but kept Inquisitor FD. Used Raid rez: No crashes.
Test 3: Wiped everyone and revived Inquisitor. Used Raid rez: No crashes.
At this point I loaded 6 toons onto computer 2 and put them all in group 3 in addition to the 2 groups mentioned above. Note however that I have NOT hit connect so that neither computer can talk to each other yet.
Test 1: Wiped the raid but kept Inquisitor in group 3 FD. Used Raid rez: No crashes.
Now I hit the connect button so that the computers can "talk" to each other.
Test 1: Wiped the raid but kept Inquisitor in group 3 FD. Used Raid rez: No crashes.
Test 2: Wiped the raid but Inquisitor lived. Resumed bot and let it handle rezzing. No crashes.
Test 3: Wiped the raid. Revived inquisitor. Raid rezzed. No crashes.
At this point I'm not sure what else to try to reproduce the crash.
I can describe what crashed us again last night. Perhaps it has something to do with a setup on my friends computer.
Crash 1: We wiped to Blazeclaw. I ran back on dirge and began group rezzing to avoid the crashes. I forgot to pause the other toons though and the inquisitor in the group i rezzed cast raid wize rez and crashed a bunch of us with the usual error message.. including those that had already accepted rezzes.
Hmm.... Now that is extremely odd. Because if a person has already accepted res, if someone else casts another group/raid res, that person shouldn't get any option at all. No box etc.
Crash 2: We wiped to Ikiatar. I ran back on dirge. Paused all the bots. Group rezzed both my groups and then group rezzed my friends group with the dirge. His inquisitor and my dirge both froze up and crashed with the error message described earlier in the thread.
Unrelated to rezzing we have noticed issues with his inquisitor crashing. It happened a couple of times throughout the night both in and out of combat. His inquisitor and my inquisitor are both running the same "profile" but his aliases should be updated to reflect his group setup.
Same crash I assume, with no information? I raid every 2-3 days and we run 4 inq (all Ogrebot), and we don't have any crashing issues.
Seems the only way I can replicate the crashing is when we are running all 3 groups along with my friend. He is not able to test with me this morning and he doesn't live with me so I can't run tests on his computer for him. When we raid I use ogre connect so i can control both my groups and he just controls his group separately.
Would there be something about calling for rez wipes and the way the dirges communicate that could cause this? Do having raid/grind options loaded after we wipe to a named that utilizes them somehow affect it? We didn't wipe to any mobs that don't utilize some type of scripting (Dagarn and Theldak the Stinger for example). Perhaps we can try wiping to one of these mobs when we're able to reset in a few days and see if rezzing crashes us.
That's all the info i can think of to include for now. I guess to get anywhere I'll have to try to go in with the 3 groups again sometime.
Wipes can't called, it's the living people who scan and decide if they should res.
Raid/grind options shouldn't have any affect, because most are based off events happening, IE: something happens, and they react. For the few that do neeed to scan things, there are tests in place so it won't happen out of combat. (I say shouldn't matter, because there always are exceptions). If you can reproduce it, try turning off raid/grind options if you want.
If you're able to reproduce it next time you're raiding, come to IRC and see if I'm there.
