Crashing on entry to VG (New to vista)

Hey guys. I just bought a new laptop which has Vista installed. Ive gone through the setup process and everything seems to be fine, however when I launch Vanguard, it crashes as I enter the char select screen. I can see that the script is working because just before it crashes I see the innerspace scripting.

I have no problems running on my pc which is using XP... but just cant figure out what to do for Vista and Im not particularly computer savvy so not sure where to go from here.

Ive made sure the innerspace icon on my desktop is set for administrator and Ive also tried it using xp environment... with no luck.

Ive copied the crash report and will post it here. If anyone can help me pinpoint a solution I would be eternally grateful :D Thankyou in advance.

First, the method for reporting a crash bug is here: http://www.isxgames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2348 ...and, there is actually a forum here called "Bug Reports" ...so, I'm not sure why you posted in "Tutorials, Questions, and Answers".

Anyway, it looks like that crash you reported above was caused buy an actual script. Are you loading isxvg through running another script?

Also, did you copy innerspace or isxvg over from your old computer, or did you install them from scratch? You need to install BOTH on the new computer from fresh files from the server (http://www.isxgames.com/isxvg/ISXVG.exe for ISXVG).

Apologies.

Hi again. My sincerest apologies for posting in the wrong section. I'm a total noob when it comes to forums. I figured "questions and answers" would be where I asked questions and got answers.... guess I was wrong.

Anyway, I have uninstalled the program and reinstalled it 3 times. I am actually a little closer to making it work. (dont ask me how though) It now no longer crashes in char select. I can get all the way into the game with the console and everything running, however when I type in "runscript vgcraftbot" and press enter, it crashes. So Im getting closer. Ill try to find some answers in the rest of the forums, now that I kind of know where to look, otherwise Ill take your suggestion and do that crash report thinggy.

Again I apologise for using the wrong forum.. please feel free to delete the whole post if you want.

I'm not sure what to say -- if it works on XP for you, then it should work with vista (I use vista myself.)

Try playing Vanguard in WINDOWED mode. And, instead of running a script, type "ext isxvg" in the console.

Cybris, you are an angel.. thankyou soooo very much. I actually gave up on using the laptop in the end, then I checked here and saw your post, intstalled the .dll file and hey presto.. it worked first time :) Im so happy.. thankyou :))
