EQ2 with different account settings

Is there a way with IS to load different account settings?

So basically I want one toon to have different settings when I login (like log, voice chat, different graphics) then my other accounts that login.

I just get tired of logging in the other accounts and turning log off, turning chat off, and setting a lower graphics. This is when I am boxing multiple accounts on the same computer. And no I do not want to run off of multiple EQ2 directories.

If this is a better question to post on the IS boards just let me know.

I haven't used it, but you may be able to edit this to do what you need it to.

Yeah I guess that is all I have, to use. It basically just runs "eq2execute /load_custom_options_file" on each session after it is loaded. I was really looking to launch the EQ2 client with throttled back settings before it ever got in game.

Thanks though. Probably be something I can add to my botcommander.

You want ISboxer, which allows "alias" files. Does exactly what you want.

I use it every day. My Main toon has voice, full graphics, sound etc. The toon I drag around with me has no sound, lowest graphics settings, no voice etc, all logged in automatically.

ISBoxer is the correct answer in this situation, copy your eq2recent.ini file and give it several different names like eq21boxrecent.ini etc. Then set a alias in ISBoxer for each window it launches and it will remember the settings to a T.

This is a much more powerfull solution.

Ahh, I knew about ISboxer, but not exactly what it does since I run on full settings on my main PC, and run other PC's all on lowest settings full time.

Its tough one though since isboxer pushes the screens without borders, they are very dependant on where you mouse over is. I know that doesnt make since but set up a Window of 3 clients and you will see i think.... its almost easier to use the mainbox script to force all the clients to use a seperate configured eq2. but i dunno, niether seem to turn on/off log file so they are both a problem. Anyways, I just use mainbox now and make sure i log off with /log off and voice chat off.

I dont know if any of that made since, im drinking vodka......... but isboxer is sweet it just has a few things i dont like about it, for me the mainbox or the eq2borcommander function works best but it would still be nice to force a running eq2 cleint to use a specific eq2 ini....

You can have borders or borderless with isboxer as it's just a checkbox option. One thing to note is for best usage you need to create several lavish profiles for eq2 and setup the autologin script. Then associate ISBoxer with those profiles. Once you do that it's 2 mouse clicks to have all your accounts kicked up, logged in, and your preferred char launched up (character launching is optional however).

Then you just bot away, sure does streamline the whole experience. I suggest when playing with ISBoxer to head onto IRC into the #ISBoxer channel where Lax is very helpfull and can give fairly quick answers.

So after playing around with this... ROCKS !!!!!! If you have mutliple toons on the same box then this tool is a MUST.

My 2cents.

Glad to hear it, the only real setting I need to turn down/ff on mine is voice, since I only run two on each PC. Will have to play around with it for when I do my alternate mode of x2 boxing.

yes it is a handy tool, I have been meaning to write a walkthrough for multiboxing with it on 1 PC but haven't had the free time. It can even work on multiple PC's and launch sessions on other PC's as long as it's booted and IS is running.

To save me time looking all the settings up. What file does the voice command go into and what is the voice on/off command?

You don't need to enter a command in a file. What you need to do is log in, crank all the settings down, turn off voice etc, then exit EQ2.

Copy the file C:\Program Files\Sony\EverquestII\eq2_recent.ini and rename the copy to eq2_recentLOW.ini (or something similar)

Then you log back in, put your settings back to where you want them, high res, voice etc.

Open ISBoxer, go to the Virtual Files section, add the eq2_recentLOW.ini file, and attach it to the characters you want to use that profile.

Or just copy the one you have to low or other names etc, and add it as a virtual file and when you make changes it saves to that file. All in all you can have a different settings per eq2 session and change them and have it save the settings.
