EQ2BOT no helpful tutorials.

Hi,

First i dont want to be taken as being negitive so i would like to thank all the people who write the scripts for their hard work, any feedback i give is to be taken with a grain of salt please.

My biggest issue with eq2bot is understanding it. There is no written tutorials for it and there is no walk thrues for it. I have read alot of post and it seems everyone just expects people to become familiar with the scripts and to edit them yourself which is insane, i dont expect everyone to become a doctor and to mend bones do heart surgery ect . Also it seems that people just expect everyone to know all about the ui and what everything means, for example;
Maximum scan range for AH??? i take it for autohate but i am not sure and then what does that entail totally??

Also there are alot of other things like how do i get my troubador to joust in and out?? or how do you use the navigation?? is there a way to make a camp spot for your MT to stand so if knockback happens he automatically goes back to that exact spot, and is there a way to make it so your group stand at max heal range and dps's/heals and waits for the /tell to joust in and joust out.

Again this seems like a nice program but you can have a diamond and if people do not understand it or the value of it, it becomes useless.

So the reason i am posting this would be to ask for a very well written and explained tutorial for the program as a whole, please remember that people who use this program are not scripter, i just wanted to play 6 toons for the experience and the fun of it. I dont want to learn scripting, i just want to pay my money and enjoy a well written well explained utility.

One last question as well to all the scriptors. If i provided a flow chart with my xclass ca/spell cast order could a script writter redo that classes script for me.

You don't pay your money for scripts though, and the people who write scripts are paying their money just the same as you are. Don't expect paid support for scripts, since you aren't paying for it.

Yes. Pygar has stated multiple times that he doesn't play every class, and if you can detail what abilities to use under what circumstances, he can write the class file to do that.

As Val already mentioned about the money issue..

Writing documents on every changing scripts really REALLY sucks to do. And you are asking someone that has put hours and HOURS into a script for you to use (free, I may add), then you want that same person that knows exactly what they did, to then write it back out in a nice document for others to use.

Some people pay me for my scripts, and in return I do indeed provide a full walkthrough / wiki / turtorial. Why? Because they paid me very good money to do so. Would I do it for free? Absolutely not. I enjoy scripting, but I do not enjoy documenting things, but I do it for money.

Anyways.. just my thoughts as a scripter.

Maximum scan range for AH
- Auto Heal I thought. Its the distance your healers will run to "do something" like heal or rez or buff

The top one is the distance being scanned, I always lower that to like 10, no real clue though

The very bottom one, distance to engage on MT, is pretty explanitory but if you put it too high the bot will take off and engage the mob where it first had a dip in hit points... really annoying so I keep this one like at 10 or 15.

I would consider this more like learning how to change a bed pan then actual surgery... It's messy, it's boring, but it's rewarding when the bots do what you want and smile after you clean up their shit.

ohh and their is a ISXEQ2 wiki. The scripts use the ISXEQ2 objects and events and triggers...

Really, the scripts (Class Routines) are very simple.

I play Troub, Coe, Inq, Defiler, Wizard, and SHK... If you want to send me a "flow chart" for any of those classes and I think it makes sense I'll add it to my scripts, play with it, then send it to you or post on the boards.

Anything to make my classes better, I'm not doing it for you it's for me so let's get that straight up front... but I'm telling you it will give you better gratification when you pass a zone/mob/get loot when the bots are your creation !
