evebot problem picking up freight

Using evebot (0.962 Rev 372) for the first time to collect freight I notice a frequent problem to pick up freight. Every other station evebot doesn't recognize the number of items in the station hangar and leaves the station without having picked up a single item. After undocking evebot redocks again but didn't transfer an item again and again ad infinitum.
What could be the reason for this strange behaviour?

i've noticed 2 things will cause evebot to dock over and over.
1) if there's nothing in the hangar, it'll exit and go back in and back out etc.
2) if you have no items equipped on the ship (or a frieghter which cant equip anything) it will grab all your stuff, undock and go back in, which then gives it the first problem, since there's nothing in the hangar now.

Also I'm curious why its programmed to only pick up ore and not minerals.
