Update question

When there are updates and the new exe file is needed how do you do it? Currently i go to http://isxeq2.twonk.net/binaries/autoupdated for the new exe and copy it into the eq directory is this the correct way or is there something else i should be looking for to update when there are patches..

You will always need the executable for a forced patch. So, if you patch today and then wait ..you will have the right EverQuest2.exe

You only need to get the EverQuest2.exe from twonk if
  1. You accidentally patched on a day AFTER the forced patch day (and therefore would then have the wrong version of EverQuest2.exe)
  2. You took a break from EverQuest2 and then just came back on a day that wasn't a forced patch day and YOU were forced to patch (since you had not been using the game in such a long time).
So, basically, you never run the EQ2 patcher unless the game tells you "hey, this client doesn't match ..you MUST run the patcher." Then, you run the patcher ONCE. From that point forward you go back to InnerSpace and launch (without the patcher) as normal until you get that message again. ISXEQ2 will work when it's ready and released ...but until then, you can certainly go ahead and use EQ2 without isxeq2.

(Note: People that run the patcher on days that are not forced patch days are stupid. *NEVER* run the patcher unless the game FORCES you to do so.)
