Heroic Opportunities and Eq2bot

Once I select the different skills to use for each type of HO, arn't they suppose to save to that characters XML file? I ask because mine are not. I select them all, close Eq2bot and the next time I reopen them its all back to null.

Hopefully this is something easy I have missed and you all can flame me for being stupid!

I updated all the files just to be sure. Ran it, selected Merciless Melody for Coin 1 (I'm a scout). I start the bot, stop the bot. Close the UI by pushing the X button. When I run it again, there is nothing selected in HOs.

Should it be saving automatically, or am I shutting it down without saving the data?

it saves it as soon as you select it in the combobox. Mine works. This appears to be a case of PEBCAK.

Are you using Vista? Is the Innerspace directory in the Program Files directory?

Vista is pretty strict about where it allows things to be written to. If the innerspace directory is in your Program Files, move it out to the C: parent directory or drag it into your Public Folder.

Just a shot in the dark...

I'd really recommend turning off UAC on machines using innerspace. But that's just my personal preference.

No vista. XP sp3. My stuff is installed in program files.

did some looking at the code before I ever posted, it looked to me as if the HO information was suppose to be saved in the character XML file, and if that is in fact correct, then the HO stuff is the only thing unable to save data to the xml file, all other saved data is being retained.

For those of you having issues, try changing something in the HO tab, and then changing a checkbox elsewhere, and see if the HO settings get saved.

Changed a HO thing, moved to class tab and checked something. Closed bot and reopened. HO tab is all null and the class tab maintained its check.


I have also deleted the entire scripts file and redownloaded it.

ah. I think I've figured out this issue. all of you having the issue have never set up HOs on those characters before? I'd like to see a settings file from someone having this problem, feel free to edit out any personally identifiable information.

Thanks, I'm not exactly sure when I'll be getting the time to work on this, work has me pretty busy. I've got a good idea of WHAT is happening, but it's going to take a bit of digging to determine WHY and fix it.

I don't understand why anyone cares. Heroic Opportunities are currently a huge waste of time.

To wait to cast a spell or to do a CA, etc is a waste of DPS. But to say an HO is a waste of time isn't completely true either.

HO's if done correctly can add up to 1k DPS on a palace zone wide.

They are a waste of time. Period.

Any properly geared character that is properly played will do better not screwing around with them. Sure, they may add a little here and there, but it's not enough to be worth the trouble. Perhaps if you're low level and soloing I could see it perhaps ..but, even then it's not something that breaks or makes the game.

I like them. I dont want to debate if they are good or bad. I just want to know how to fix them so I dont have to set them up for 4 characters every time I box.
