Hi guys, I was thinking of firing my team back up and checking out the new content but figured I would check in with you guys and see what you all thought since its been out a few weeks now. How is it? Hows the botting in it, to hard just right and so on. It looks great but as they say, looks aint everything :)

I'll say anything to get you paying me again. So this is the BEST CONTENT EVER!

I guess big picture, it's the same shit. So if you enjoyed previous expansions, it's the same shit, so you'll enjoy this one.

They are (without really realizing it) are catering to botters. The "treadmill" this xpac is MUCH longer than any xpac in the past. Meaning you will need to run zones way more times to get the "best" heroic gear possible. This caters to botters, well because we have pre-made groups.

They did change a lot of things (actually too many, IMO). But in the end, almost none of these changes really matter. The one thing that I'd say "sucks" off the bat, is how you level from 95 to 100. Dungeon maker no longer gives exp, and almost every single old world contested zone gives almost 0 exp if you are level 96 or above. I don't have an answer to this, as I am already leveled. But aside from this, all the other changes (like focusing on harvesting/crafting) don't matter.

Seems a lot of people are enjoying it. There is a lot of content, and it scales.. not sure appropriately.. but it scales :)

Early expansion was a little bit unforgiving if you wanted to skip from top ToV heroic gear to entry AoM heroic gear, but after their first round of adjustments I feel that there are enough lower tier zones to help gear you up.

I agree with Kannkor that most of this expansion is aimed towards botters doing the same tasks repeatedly. The encounters are heavily scripted (too much so IMO) and many single players don't want that level of sophistication from all aspects of their heroic gameplay.

I like how they are doing loot. They took the right ideas from ToV and expanded on it in a good way. It is also nice to see tradeskills being desired again.

I do not like how rare some of the crafting rares are.

I have been considering getting my team going as well. I have only been running solo right now getting a feel for things. My major assache, I think, is going to be getting my team from 95/320 to 100/350 without DM or SS giving good xp. If anyone knows of some good spots to level them up please PM me (I imagine it wouldn't be great to post it here).

Pretty sure there is no super secret place anywhere since the game drops xp for level 96+ in lower zones.
Basically DM has just moved to HKC.

is there a quest line that needs to be followed and completed in order to unlock content like previous expansions?

The questline does not block content, it is useful for acquiring starter gear if your gear was ToV Arcane and below and learning the story of the expansion.

You have to do the quest line to get the adornment unattuner, you will be swapping them out so much that it's silly not to.

If you're either super cheap, or super broke...
I will spend the 15p to buy my adornment dislodgers. They are on a merchant in vesypr island and work "better" than the adornment unattuner you get from the sig quest line (it doesn't make the whites no trade).

Yes, it's 15p PER adorn dislodge, but it would take me hundreds before it added up to any amount of plat. Am I willing to spend 1500 on 100 dislodgers to avoid doing the sig quest line? Yes, yes I am. It will take me quite some time to burn 100 of them. And when I do, I'll go buy 100 more.

Fair point but the amount of swaps of armour I have done trying to work out strats and survive in zones would have cost me loads of plat and I'd rather buy kronos with it. Plus I don't mind doing the quest lines, I do it as I watch a movie so it's all good.
